It wasn't always like that. I think Saban brings out the worst in people. Updyke, Downing, Pritchett, the guy who killed his neighbor over the 2010 game, the fan who killed another Bama fan for not being upset enough over the Pick Six...a lot of embarrassing incidents but they've all happened in the Saban era.
LSU fans also had a reputation for idiocy about 10-15 years ago, even thought there were fewer high profile incidents. Guess who our coach was back then?

As a man who has sat in Tiger Stadium since the 60's I would say you don't own exclusive rights to dumbass fans. That is one poll LSU is always towards the top in.
