They have the same starting 5 I believe. They only made small changes to the roster. They won a lot of games last year.

Why are they getting blown out?

They look old on the court. It's really frustrating as a Grizz fan, but something needs to change now

The problem is they are the exact same team they were 5 years ago. They are still good enough to make the playoffs and maybe win a series. But they haven't made any moves in the last 5 years to put them over the hump.

Yes but I know what's wrong with the Rockets... a new ball-dominant starter being added to the team will have growing pains, they have no PF right now (both are hurt), and they had little practice time this preseason due to injuries.

As an NBA fan, I am confused with the Grizzlies because I don't see any circumstances (like with the Rockets) that should cause a drop off.

Our offense has been horrid. Marc has had a neck strain so he hasn't been completely healthy. We just don't seem to have the heart on defense. Mike needs to be the catalyst and be more selfish

But they really aren't old, are they? Of the starters, isn't the only "old" player Zach Randolph?

And they will again this year.

They aren't doing a lot of things well right now that they usually do to make up the scoring discrepancy.

The blowouts are annoying, but this month was always going to be a nightmare schedule wise. As long as they stay around .500 until December they will be fine.

Gasol is obviously not in shape yet after not playing for Spain during the summer for the first time in his career.

The Thunder have lost 3 straight, the Rockets lost their first 3 games by like 20 points in each of them, and have the Pels won a game yet? It is November, WAYYY to early to act like the sky is falling on a team who is .500 and two of those losses came to the two teams that were in the finals last year.

Well to be fair to the Grizz, they have gotten blown out by the 2 best teams in the league, one of which figured them out in the postseason last year.

They were playing Portland tight until Lillard and Mccollum shot the lights out. Portland is a young team playing with a lot of confidence. They have plenty of shots to distribute around now that they got rid of the ball stopper Aldridge.

The Thunder have a new coach and had to learn a new system. They also haven't really played with a healthy roster + Kanter until this year. So it's understandable they would have some growing to do.

With the Rockets, they added a new ball-dominant PG to the mix, plus have injuries to their two PF's and haven't had a healthy roster to practice together during the preseason. So it's also understandable that they would have some growing to do.

But the Grizzlies don't have those kinds of issues. And it's one thing to lose to good teams... it's another to get blown out. I'm just looking for answers.

To be fair it was only cracked to begin with. Their impact players are all past their prime outside of gasol and Conley and those 2 are nowhere near good enough to win a title without tons of help. You gotta have athletes and shooting and they have neither. 3 pointers and dunks are what start runs. When you don't get those type of plays the runs are harder to come by.

Also d12 didn't play in 2 of the 3 losses.

If multiple teams in the conference are making changes and improving and your team is doing nothing, that explains the drop off right there.

I gave you some. You ignored them to post some bullshite that really had nothing to with why those teams are struggling.

100's of cases of this never being an issue

No it doesn't they have fricking KD and Westbrook. They should be a juggernaut.

No Harden sucked arse in their first few games, so the Rockets sucked arse.

Just like Gasol has sucked and the Grizz have sucked at times this season.

Actually, they're mostly on the wrong side of their NBA odometers.

The average age of an active player on the Memphis roster is more than 2 years older than the league average-- 5th oldest in the leauge, overall.

Who do they trail? The Spurs, Heat, Clippers, and Mavs. Some pretty good teams, but what do they have in common? Very aged cores, surrounded by younger players they aim to develop.

Who is the developmental prospect on the Grizzlies? Mike Connely is as close as I see to someone arguably outside the core, and he's 28-- Gasol is a big man on the wrong side of 30-- there's not any real room for that team getting better.

It doesn't help they play a brand of basketball that is both physically punishing for both their opponents and themselves-- and increasingly outdated in a pace and space league.
