OP - Ghost in the Machine is brewed by Parish Brewing Co out of Broussard. The last batch came out in early August, and sold out in stores the same day it was distributed. The old way of getting them would be to call your favorite liquor/grocery store and ask to be put on a waiting list. Many places stopped doing that and went to a 1 4pk per person, first come first served policy. Basically, people were chasing beer trucks. Your chances of finding them anywhere on a shelf is zero.
The next batch of Ghost will be available on Nov 21 on Parish's "Grand Reserve Day". Tickets to that event sold out a month ago. You had to purchase a $40 ticket online to go to GRD, where you were allowed to purchase up to 1 case of GITM.
After GRD, it's rumored that the only place you'll be able to buy GITM is directly from the brewery in Broussard.
You see, there's liquor laws left over from Prohibition the main part of that in play is what's called the 3 tier system. Basically, if you brew it, you're not allowed to package it and sell it directly to a customer. You have to go through a distributor. In our case, the distributors are Crescent Crown and Schilling. However, there is a clause that states that a brewery is allowed to sell no more than 10% of their total distribution themselves.
As you probably know, Parish's flagship beer is Canebrake. I'd guess that Canebrake sales alone probably account for 95% of Parish's income. So, if they wanted to sell their entire allotment of GITM from the brewery, they could.
Having already achieved name recognition, and being an astute businessman. Parish decided that instead of selling GITM for I guess, $40-50/case wholesale to Schilling/CC, that they can just sell it themselves for $72/case retail and keep all the profit.
Now you want to know how to get Ghost? Well, here's what I'd do. I'd get a poster sign and go sit on Jared Drive in Broussard on Saturday Nov 21st. I'd offer anyone walking out the door with a case $15 a 4pk. They just spent $72 on a case (6 4pks). It's a good deal for you because you didn't waste $40 on a ticket. And it's a good deal for them because if they sell you 3 4pks, they basically have 3 4pks left that they've only spent 12 on.
The jury is still out what Parish will do with whatever GITM they don't sell on GRD. My bet is that they'll sell it out of the brewery on the Monday afterwards. Good Luck!

Andrew is a smart business man who knows how to capture great income on a fantastic product his company has produced. I'm happy for him.
No way I'm paying $40 to simply have the opportunity to purchase Ghost, or spending time chasing beer trucks.
Oh well. I think Batch 1 was the only batch I wasn't able to get at least one bottle or glass in my hands. I'll just do without Batch 7 and maybe one day either production will increase or frantic demand will decrease.
Damn awesome beer, though.

Hopefully they have some left at the brewery on the Monday so I can get my customary (2) 4 packs like i have the last 3 batches.
