They're a good team. A Saban lead team. Saban teams are solid , physical teams.
We are the same , just a lil better. In my eyes these last 4 games ,should be a 2-2 split at the very least.
Gut feeling - we' re not losing Saturday. We need to go on a 4-5 game streak against them

Their QB play is questionable

Coker looks good at times, not so good at other times. Like a lot of QBs, he can be very effective when he has time to throw.

I have been impressed with is his escape ability and toughness. He can take a hit, and he will deliver one on a scramble.

Derek Henry is a one cut a go RB. Not a shfity back.

He's not very shifty, but he has great feet for a back his size. Great size-speed combo, and he's a finisher.

Also our OL matches up well.

We'll see. I think Alabama has the advantage here.

I really think LSU is the better team. IF they can get past the evil empire, LSU should be able to run the table.
I hope, I hope, I hope.

Just remember, the evil empire has the #1 recruiting class for about 6 years in a row. I'd say that's an opponent that deserves some attention. I don't think anybody on the team is looking past them to the Ole Miss game.

Because we've been hearing espn, abc, cbs, etc saying it over and over for five years. If you hear something that often, you begin to believe it even if it is BS. Geaux Tigers, f__k bama

1. Nick Saban $7,000,000 coach
2. Talent...top recruiting class year after year blah, blah, blah
According to the pundits, this is why they have 'quality' losses. With all that TALENT, the only way they can lose is to beat themselves. Bama has crafted the message for so long... pretty good brainwashing job

They have dominated the nations toughest conference for the past few years. They have a great coach who wins championships. They have a great rb. They have a great defense. Like another poster says if you are not impressed with them go follow another sport. With all that being said we can win and start a streak of beating them every year! It does amaze me though that many on this board are not giving them much credit

and therein lies the mentality. Saban's got Les' number until proven otherwise, whether we like it or not

Because they are a good football team and they have the diminutive one leading them out of the tunnel.

this will be our olines toughest test by far

Their DL has not remotely faced another team that is as physical as our OL or running game. We've faced a great defense in UF, we're at least somewhat prepared for a battle.

ETA: There are a lot of soft people in this thread. Bama has barely proven anything. They blew out an extremely average Georgia team. They squeaked by Tennessee, and lost to Ole Miss. They've played a couple of good teams, and haven't done great. I would say LSU vs MSU/UF is actually harder than UT/OM...and we're still undefeated.

People don't realize that teams don't carrryover. This isn't last year, this isn't the year before, this isn't 1/9/12. I watched the entire game from 2014 last night...made me sick. LSU is a completely different team than last year, and we're significantly better! Our offense is on a whole new world, and our front 7 is even better! People say "Nick has Les's number." People forget that one or two plays dictated that entire game. LSU had the ball at the 8 yard line, our OL players are getting shoved and drug off a pile, and Ritter throws a flag that puts LSU in an impossible situation. Fast forward to OT, and we throw a jump ball in the end zone and our WR gets raped. Also, last drive of the game for Bama there was a catch that should have been reviewed and the refs didn't review it. I'm not blaming refs, I'm just pointing out key moments that hindered our ability to win. All this from a team that finished 8-5 and was overall an extremely average team. Bama was supposed to be dominant and amazing last year, and yet there we were almost pulling off the upset. Well we are twice the team this year, they aren't as good as they were last year, and we're gonna slap our dicks on their faces Saturday night. Amari Cooper isn't walking through that door Saturday night...we finna eat.

This is one key factor--the OL at LSU should have the edge.

Also, I believe Harris has played a better at QB--it seems like Bama has had the edge at QB most of the time in recent years.

Not sure what impact the weather will have on the game, that tends to be an equalizer much of the time.

Team A: 7-1
UGA: won by 28 at home
UT: won in 4th quarter
OM: lost by 7 at home
Loss: #18 ole miss at home

Team B: 7-1
UGA: won by 24 (neutral)
UT: Won in 4th quarter
OM: won by 28
Loss: @ #2 LSU by 7

You give this to anyone with simply team A and team B at the top, bama won't get a single vote over UF. I'm sick and tired of the bama bias.

All this crap is in peoples heads based on the "eye test" (247 composite test). literally what the hell has bama done this year besides beat A&M, and having the media suck them off 24-7?

They are 1-1 vs the top 25. 1-0 if they were undefeated like you should be to be in the top 4 at this point in the season. The only reason ole miss is still ranked is bc bama blew it. LSU loses to MSU they are top 10 right now and still a better quality loss than ole miss

Basically bama is in every year until they have 2 losses.

Guys, their front 7 is the best in football...So they win at the most important part of the game; line of scrimmage...give them credit where credit is due...IF we block well and no busted coverages in the secondary, we win...if not, woulda, coulda, shoulda once again

You think the LSU OL has the edge on the Alabama front 7??

Would you like to explain that?

Also, I think this is a game where LSU will really miss Dillon Gordon. I think Jeter will have a lot of trouble with Alabama's physicality.

Just like USC in the early 2000's, Nick Saban and Alabama are the media darlings.

People give them the benefit of the doubt based on prior history, but it is frustrating as it does little to dictate current performance.

quote:

They almost lost to Tenn

I view things like this with a grain of salt. One could argue that LSU almost lost to MSU or even UF. However, each game is independent of one another.

You do not always have the same strategy, mentality, or even breaks from game to game. The same can be said about your opponent. Hence why the Transitive Property of college football is a fallacy.

Sure as Hell didn't beat Ole Miss did they?

Name a team that runs an offense like us that has prepared them?

Florida has a tremendous defensive front 7, both are probably top 10 fronts in college football and UF's secondary blows Bama's out the water.

You probably just watch ESPN and let them tell you why Bama is so amazing. Watch moments and plays for yourself. They've already lost and struggled against other teams...there is a reason for this.
