i REALLY hope this shite blows through early or stalls by some chance.

So there's still a 20% chance that it won't rain?

Rain hurt LSU against W. Kentucky. Did not hurt bama against Georgia.

well....who's offensive line would you rather have in a mud bowl? I'd love for Harris to be able to exploit Bama with his arm...but if it turns into a mud bowl...I like our chances with our OL and with LSU's big, powerful backs. JMO

It allows them to play close to the line. With their D it pits their strongest and deepest units, DL and LB against our OL. Considering we are missing our bad arse blocking TE and FB, it would probably play into their favor as it basically becomes 7vs6 or 8vs7(2TE set). Our Oline can match up with anyone, but the TE's and FB's we will bring will not match up as well with their LB's. Much better situation if it the rain stays the hell away from BDS.

I always rely on the NWS Forecast Discussion when I really want to know/understand the reasoning behind a forecast:
Here's today's snippet regarding Saturday:
FWIW, the NWS currently puts Sat. night rain chances at 30%.
Here's today's snippet regarding Saturday:
quote:
LONG TERM /SATURDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
WILL MOVE FROM NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST AS THE COLD FRONT MOVES
SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE AREA ON SATURDAY. THIS IS WHERE UNCERTAINTY
INCREASES AS THE GLOBAL MODELS HAVE SIGNIFICANTLY DIFFERENT SOLUTIONS
FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEKEND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. THE GFS MOVES
THE FRONT INTO THE CENTRAL GULF ON SUNDAY WITH A DRIER AND COOLER
AIRMASS MOVING INTO THE AREA FOR EARLY NEXT WEEK. MEANWHILE...THE
ECMWF STALLS THE FRONT OVER THE SOUTHEAST STATES AS A SFC LOW
DEVELOPS ALONG THE SOUTHERN END OF THE FRONT AND MOVES NORTHEAST
ALONG THE GULF COAST STATES. THIS WOULD KEEP THE UNSETTLED AND WET
PATTERN AROUND THROUGH THE WEEKEND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK. THE CURRENT
FORECAST WILL CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THE DRIER SOLUTION FOR NOW AWAITING
BETTER MODEL AGREEMENT
FWIW, the NWS currently puts Sat. night rain chances at 30%.

From NWS:
Saturday NightShowers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 7pm, then a chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 50. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Rain hurts us more than Bama. It neutralizes our biggest advantages. A dry fast field allows our explosive blockers and backs to exploit opposing defenses. Not the end of the world, but I really hope we get lucky and dodge this.

If it turns into a mud bowl, glad we got this guy:

Serious question. When has it ever rained for LSU Bama game in Tuscaloosa? It's usually cool and clear.

Wet field equalizes LF much more than it limits Henry. At least we've had a wet game in prep though.

Weather bug says 30% at gametime and the chance gets less and less.

It's still a bit too far out. If the forecast still looks like this by thursday night then I'll start to worry

a wet field and soft turf is an athletic equalizer. it limits an explosive player's ability to make cuts and accelerate. Fournette looked visibly slower against WKU than vs auburn, Syracuse, etc. Of course visibly slower means, "looked like a human".
derrick henry isn't known for his ability to start and stop or change direction, so i'm definitely hoping for clear weather.

It keeps growing for Friday late night and Saturday early till afternoon. After 3PM I've been seeing a consistent 30-50%. Was higher earlier today. If that trend keeps up, should be clear and cloudy by gametime! Still a wet field, but I'd take it with Fournette in our corner!

This thread rates a 10/10 on the suck scale.

Not very worried about this tbh.
