the playoffs area time to bring in the casual fans
if that was true every sports league wouldnt be rushing to sell several rounds of their playoffs to cable channels.
and again, do you not have Unimas? Its a fairly common over the air channel. Is it that hard to check for people to use their channel guide to see if they have it? Is it that hard to see if using SAP is an option to watch the game in English? shite, do you even need to watch it in English?

The soccer fans and MLS supporters will go find it so they can watch it. The casual fan, the larger audience, probably won't go looking for it.
If MLS wants to grow the pie, which it absolutely does, it needs to have playoff games easily accessible to a mass audience. People who watch the NFL playoffs don't have to find out what Unimas is or how to find it.
MLS has been working on the foundation very well over the last decade. The TV market is the next front that I expect to be the focus. I read somewhere where Garber was laying out the strategic vision for continued growth of the league and mentioned that their income was first from ticket sales, second from sponsorships, and third from TV. He said that order needs to be inverted.
