Fournette was "held in check" with 180 yards and 2 TDS against one of the best defenses in the country last week. Just saying...
I don't know if the #23 rushing defense is "one of the best defenses in the country", especially when you look at the rest of their schedule. They're OK. Just saying...

Who have y'all played again?

I'll say it again.
Christian McCaffery.

They are 23 after LF went for 180 on them
Go take a peek where they were before the LSU game

Again, look at who they played before the LSU game.

Does the Ohio State schedule make Leonard Fournette better against Western Kentucky?
Posted on 10/25/15 at 2:47 am to DisplacedBuckeye
just my opinion. But it's..
LF
Cook, Henry and Zeke fighting for 2nd best.

Cook is still better and its hilarious you left out the 4 catches for 50 yards he had

“Coach Meyer really didn’t want to put me in on that last series; he was ready to bench me,” Elliott said. “He was like, ‘You better get it early, I’m only going to give you a couple plays.’”
That answers that dilemma

If we ran Fournette while up big at the end of games, he'd have 3000 yards already.

Well, since you're rarely up big you don't have that problem, now do you?

I really hate the "if you take out the 80 yard play" kind of shite.
Why would the big play ability not count? Even if you're going to do that you can't negate all of the yards on that play. Presumably the player would have had plays in a longer drive to get some of those yards.
It's stupid; that's what I'm trying to say.

After reading this thread, you're all being ridiculous.

Of course. It wouldn't be any fun otherwise.

It can help provide context. That said, LF7 has benefitted every bit as much from the big plays as Zeke. But both in value to the team and quality as a back, an 87 yard run with a bunch of 0-2 yard gains only provides the team 1 first down. 100 yards on 15 carries evenly distributed is much more valuable for the offense.
Also, running back stats are so low(relatively speaking) that its irreparably skewed by field position. Take the South Carolina game. Had Fournette happened to break that exact same play from the 50, he would have had 37 yards less on the day. That becomes a huge difference since RBs don't go for 300 yards to smooth out those outliers like QBs do.
Obviously those yards were still earned and counted. But just like completion percentage is important for QBs, its not just about getting a lot of yards or even yards per carry.

Heaven forbid there is another player in the country equal to or (gasp) better than a LSU player.

It's so funny to watch the transition in LSU fans. When the team is down, it's all "Les Miles is so fricking stupid, everything sucks yaddee yadda"
When they're winning though is when they hit their final form
"MAD HATTER BITCH!!!! SUCK THAT LEONARD FOURNETTE DICK BITCH!!"
