The whole thing was beyond stupid, including LSU fans' reactions.

Agreed. It's one thing for the patrons who got turned away and the owner/manager to have words about the issue, but for a bunch of internet white knights to throw a childish fit over it is ridiculous. Bet those same people were up in arms when the same thing was done to Brendan Eich. fricking losers.

Yes. Especially....

LSU fans' reactions.
The UF Alumni Association paid a fee to reserve a room to watch the UF/LSU and asked that in exchange for their fee that no fans of the opposing team be allowed to come to the party/be seated with them. I don't think that is an unreasonable request. This establishment evidently has also had prior bad experiences with LSU fans. I know this might hurt some feelings, but LSU does have a lot of drunk, obnoxious, assholes in their fanbase. Of course, that doesn't mean that all LSU fans are drunk, obnoxious, assholes, or that there aren't those kind of people in every university's fanbase, but I can certainly understand an establishment wanting to avoid a possible repeat of prior bad incidents. Especially in light of the fact that there were going to be several fans of the opposing school at the restaurant.
The LSU fans' reaction was childish, at best. Grow up. Say, "hey, I understand", and go to a different establishment to watch a game.
