nice set up. Do the Natives come with prerigged wiring for fish finders or did you install that yourself?

Hobie brag time, sorry baws. This is the super clean 2015 Hobie Outback install that breaks down in seconds and is completely un-obstructive when it is removed. The 1" ram ball is located in side tray and when the unit is removed, the ball is flush with the sides and cables fold down into side pocket. This way, the ball is not damaged when doing transporting. This is in the way of heavy paddling but I can also fold it forward for paddling (shown in the album)

Parts used:
- Lowrance Elite 4 HDI
- Light Use (1" ball) RAM mount for Lowrance LINK
- Replace 4 bolt 1" ball above with 2 bolt 1" ball to fit in the tray (cant find link)
- Academy Stealth Cam battery + waterproof box + charger. Cut plug off and used Dean's plugs. Lowrance fuse fits in battery box. LINK
Standard seating position
Stand up fishing/push poling/paddling

Hardly a brag, my Hobie has an Elite-9 Chirp.
I am pretty sure that you can't hurt the ram mount. Those things are pretty much bulletproof.

Lets see a pic of your Elite 9 installed.
The weakness of my RAM ball setup is the 2 bolt ball. The small plate and 2 bolts can really put torque on the kayak plastic.

Ha, this thread made me go buy a cutting board and some mounting hardware this evening. I'm going to just modify the small mount to fit the 9s bracket.

Installed it myself, the waterproof thru hull fittings are actually made by Hobie

Lowrance Elite 9 CHIRP
I used to have a 4, Lowrance upgraded me for cheap. I took the 4 RAM mount and chopped it dowm, glued some cutting board to it and now it works for the 9. Way better than spending $100 for a new one.

Nice. Did you ever upgrade the battery?

That's a monster, and now you have an LSU theme going

Nah, no new batteries yet. I'm going to stay with the 7.5s until I see they are too small.

As in multiple batteries (parallel)? I cant remember what you said your setup was.
Posted on 10/16/15 at 9:08 pm to AutoYes_Clown
I have two on board. Currently, they are not run in parallel. But if I feel like I need more juice, that would be my first move...before buying a bugger battery that didn't fit in my neat little battery holders.

UPDATE:
Soooo, I finally got around to building my unit. Here is all my stuff laid out:
Once I got down to building it, I realized that the battery box I ordered was too small, so..... back to the drawing board. I ended up deciding to go with a Pelican 1060 Micro Case ($30) since my 6000mah battery was pretty flat.
I ended up mounting everything to the Pelican case and then mounting the pelican case to the cut-up cutting board which I then attached to the Predator using Scotty gear tracs and some toilet flange bolts (thanks PolarPop for the heads up - they fit great).
I am very pleased with it. The entire unit is removable and theoretically transferable to any kayak with a gear trac system. When I'm hunting, in transit, or floating a shallow river, I simply don't take the unit with me. If I'm camping or leaving my kayak somewhere exposed to people or the elements, the whole thing comes off easily. I need to fill the hole the wires are going through with some sealant, but otherwise it's all good to go. And the Dragonfly display is beautiful. VERY clean and clear.

Thanks.
Here are some better pics of it actually on the kayak. I turned the transducer arm so it's more snug to the hull:
Also, I can move the whole unit further away by straddling the two tracks I have on the different accessory plates:
