Missing 4 or 5 FG's doesn't exactly mean the other team beat you, it is the epitome of beating yourself.

Funny, of course, they didn't miss those FG's in 21-0 and won the game rather comfortably. There was little doubt to anyone with half a brain who the better team was after that night.

We missed field goals, how is that our fault? Classic gump logic

They kicked some field goals in the championship game. How many? I thought since it was 21 they only scored 3 TD's

idk LSU finished with a better record and beat bama at home. If they did bcs rankings after the final week, LSU probably still stays #1.

IMO it should be more about the fact that Bama had their chance during the season and screwed the pooch by losing at home. It is tough to beat a really good team once (let alone twice), but it is bullshite they got a second opportunity and a good argument can be made that it favors the team that lost the first game, especially when the two teams are virtually identical. The two teams played head to head twice in the same season and split the two games (with LSU playing one extra game during the season, a tough one at that). IMO it really was one of those situations that if the two teams played 100 times, they might turn about 50-50.
