Most of my spots in TX are established blinds on private so outside of brushing it's kinda show up. Back home in NELA we hunt some public and we will scout some of our proven holes just to check to see if birds are there but being that Mecca is in a fricking drought I will probably be bumming hunts in fields when I go home for Turkey week.

What is MercerBears trying to say? That fatneck rather kids do drugs and commit crimes than hunt? And something about scalping like indians? Did I get that?

Not much to scout hunting our fields. When the rivers flood and the ducks get in the timber, we scout every afternoon.

I have zero fricks to give for how long you've been hunting somewhere on public land, or whether you built a blind there or what. Public land is public and hunting every morning is first come first served.

I bet u won't say that at the boat launch on Catahula lake. If you do you will need four new tires and possibly a windshield when u get back.. People on that lake are like family they may squabble between themselves some but you let an outsider mess with someone and they will all turn on you!

Saw a little 2 man concrete pit blind out there recently. Cracked me up. Prolly 18" in the ground with 2-3' above the ground. One corner was broken off a little and you could see where they used chain link fence for reinforcing. Gonna mess up somebody's morning if the water gets up...

Forgot to comment about scouting. Since they closed biloxi marsh on my surface drive I won't be able to make any fishing/scouting trips out there this yr. Pretty disappointed about that...had a lot of fun out there chasing ducks and catching fish.

My other spots don't require much scouting.

Can't wait till opening day in east zone!

That's what we do. Hunt and then go scout but we have to be off the refuge by 2 PM so no afternoon running for us.
