I love this season. The social commentary is on point. Top that with boogers and cum and you have something special.

Geralds reviews were hilarious, though I wish they were Randy. That had Randy written all over it.
The scarf
The cigar
The wine
Randy couldn't pull that off. He's too much of a bro

I loved the part where everyone started talking as if they were the leader of the Yelpers. Pretty funny episode

I'm not impressed with how they're handling Cartman so far this year
I thought the portrayal of cartman last night was absolutely in keeping with his well established character. Overbearing, filled with a sense of self importance, domineering, completely lacking empathy for others and glutonous.

Gerald was just so perfect to be some self important d bag. He was cracking me up. Whispering to the hostess that he's a Yelp reviewer

Yeah, last night was pretty much classic South Park.
I was surprised to see so many in this thread not like the episode. It was great IMO. Cartman being a selfish dick just to be a selfish dick...that's what he's always been about. And him trying to make a movement out of something stupid for his own personal gain is what he's always done (ginger episode, Faith Plus One, etc.). We even got racist Cartman back...the "bicicleta" shite was pretty funny.
The Boogers and Cum song at the end was pretty fantastic (Jacking in in San Diego is pretty terrible IMO).
And the writer angle was perfect for Gerald. Randy doing it would've felt forced, and the other parents are great characters that have been sort of held back with the emergence of Randy in the last 7+ years or so. I was glad they didn't try to shoehorn Randy into the episode.
All in all, this was old school South Park for the most part. And it was a nice callout on the bullshite of Yelp and how stupid people are when they think they're so self-important (which harkens back to the whole SJW premise of the season anyway).
Great episode.

Absolutely. Randy is quick to jump on a trend but his exuberance, as you mentioned, would have seemed forced. Gerald is an established fart sniffing progressive. Every element utilized in his reviews was perfect IMHO.

And it was even better than he was reviewing shite like Red Lobster and T.G.I.Fridays.

..and missing out on spending time with his family and his kids growing up (or at least Ike going to clown school or whatever ).

It was funny what they did, I was just expecting something epic from Cartman. He's been basically neutered the last two seasons. I thought he might Either poison the other critics food or tamper with the restraunts somehow or something like that. But all the yelpers talking over each other was funny as shite.
But it was a good episode overall. Like I said, this one had a clear beginning, middle, and end, not too much continuity from other episodes, it wasn't a direct reaction to a weekly current event, and it rounded out the story line from the beginning of the episode. It's the best episode of the last two seasons without a doubt. I hope they can continue that.

I have to say the Breesus review is a hugely positive one for this show.
All he mentioned negative was that he didn't like how Cartman has been portrayed.
That means this was an amazing episode. I don't get to watch it until lunchtime today, but now damn I'm excited.
That's downright praise coming from you. I knew you would have to come around giving the high quality of the episodes this season.

I think most of us like the Cartman character because we can all see elements of ourselves in him. Those undesirable elements that we fight to keep under control. Cartman has no inhibitions and allows his shortcomings to dominate his character. He even embellishes and celebrates his shortcomings. He's a great character.

Good lord I hope not.
He's a professed nazi, a serial killer, a sociopath, and an unrelenting narcissistic psycho.

Obviously I'm not talking about elements taken to the extreme. But the same kind of biases, the same need for exacting revenge and the same kind of self absorption that propels Cartman into insanity are harbored in each and everyone of us to one degree or another.
You may not force an adversary to eat his parents as Cartman did but chose rather to demonstrate your disdain by not sending them a Christmas card this year.
