I know a tutor down here that is making $50k/yr just tutoring. He's also a HS teacher during the day and working on his PhD in physics. I still haven't figured out why he won't just get a regular engineering job. Dude double majored in EE/ME, has his master's in math and physics, and is now getting a PhD in physics. He could make some serious cash, but I guess he likes the freedom he has now or something

1. Getting a PhD is a much bigger accomplishment than any engineering salary attainment.
2. With his credentials he could move to the northeast and teach high school and make much better money.
