I heard that this credit card rule is killing hotels for large events like Essence fest and the Bayou Classic. The undesirables are staying in the rooms and just leaving and denying the charges. Nothing they can do if it was not a face to face swipe.

That's not true at all. They can dispute but will lose. So they get the credit back for like a month.

I got inside info from hotel GMs. It happened during those events. They had huge losses.

Lol. Well they don't know how the dispute works. Was this at motel 6? You realize they have to check in right.

Do you have a number that you called? Or did you just call the customer service number for Delta? I also was told there was a $200 service charge for my flight. I got the difference to use toward another flight, but I felt like that wasn't very much.

I'm not saying you guys lie or cheat. But that hotel or airline is taking advantage by not giving your money back.
It is an emergency zone and those people really don't want others coming in. Those hotels are insured for losses of revenue when this happens. So are the airlines.

Keeping your money for a service that is not provided is exactly why dispute process is there on cc's.

The airline had plenty of time to shuffle the planes and services.

Demand your money back or call and dispute. If not, too bad.

It's fact...again, I know this topic inside and out.

Also, many of the cards used have protections in place for these type situations. (airlines agree no cancellation fees if X card is used). The airline won't tell you this though!

Pretty shocked they told you no since you are platinum premier. I've been platinum (never premier) for a few years, and they kiss my arse royally. You need to call back and yell LOUDER.
