1.) I think this Drew Brees guy is still pretty lethal. Say it if you must about dinking and dunking but he delivered a 30 yard back shoulder throw to Coleman and that beauty to Spiller was perfectly placed.

2.) I think Snead continues to impress with each passing week. He is the most reliable WR through the 1st quarter of the season. Judging by what we've seen through training camp, preseason, and now regular season; he'll continue that trend.

3.) I think Strief's days are numbered. On numerous occasions he was just getting blown by a speed rusher and Drew almost ended up in the same exact position he found himself in against TB.

4.) I think our young defensive line will be outstanding going forward. With the national lights on they didn't disappoint. Richardson and Davison showing the Hicks move was worth it. By the way, they did it against that superb Dallas offensive line.

5.) I think our 2 young stud linebackers had themselves a fine national spotlight showing. Combining for 15 tackles and 2 sacks between them, Kikaha and Anthony will be a thorn in the side of opposing offenses for the next decade.

6.) I think Breaux is a solid CB2 option with a healthy Lewis. The play by Williams was just outstanding effort.

7.) I think going forward you have to have Lewis and Breaux as your starting CB's. Browner is beyond a liability. Who would you rather guarding a TE as CB3, Browner or Swann?

8.) I think the play-calling was slightly better last night than in the 1st 3 games. It appeared that Payton opened it up a bit more.

9.) I think Hocker needs to think every kick he attempts is a 51 yarder. How you can absolutely boom a 50+ yarder right down the middle and then hook a 30 yarder is insane.

10.) I think Spiller needs more touches. Yes, I know, eye-opening. Going beyond his game winner though, when he got those toss sweep calls he was picking up 5-10 yards a pop. The offense in return seemed to gain momentum from those nice run chunk plays to continue drives.

All in all not the cleanest game by any means but a win is a win and it's the 1st of the season. It was great to see Drew's emotion as Spiller was racing to the end zone and to see the looks on these young guys faces. Here's to that dramatic finish turning this season around and us getting on a roll. The Saints are coming

I agree with your assessment. Spiller will get more touches. Here's not healthy yet. He just had his knee procedure 5 wks ago. I don't think we paid him all that money for 5-7 touches a game.

These 2 points lead to Andrus Peat. I know that he was not in shape early in camp but he seems to be over that. And in limited snaps, he has played well. I wonder how much of his camp performance was tied to how good these young front 7 guys are? They gave Dallas hell. I think it's time to put Old 64 to pasture and bring in the rookie. He can't look any worse than Strief.

Sadly the one thing I think I think is if we would have played Dallas with Romo and Dez, this game would have gotten ugly for us.

Be encouraged at how the young defenders are playing, and how we may have a playmaker in Snead (which is sad because he is out playing our 1st rounder), but don't be fooled that this team is any good this year.
