Sadly they're just trying to force the Iris-Barry thing.

Yeah it's weird that Iris is like a sister to him as well. Not sure why they made that happen.
I just wish they would go the route of Arrow and forget about Iris like they did with Oliver and Laurel.

Yeah...I'm kind of sad he turned that offer down. Iris is like a sister to him. It's kind of weird that they dig each other in that way. Patty Spivot was perfect for him. And she was hot.

Can't believe he turned that offer down.

She's not terrible or great but she's still much better than the one that plays Iris.

Is it just me, or did Patty look her hottest in this week's episode?

She had her hair down instead of a bun or something the whole time.

Except here is the thing... Barry isn't with iris in the comics.... He's with Patty

Bart Allen (Impulse) is the grandson of...Barry and Iris.

Then again, in the comics, Wally West is Iris' nephew, not her brother.

I'm just pointing out that he said the writers should pull an arrow and not go with what is in the comics... inadvertantly saying he wants them to do the exact opposite of what he actually wants them to do. It was super ironic

I was referring to in how Arrow it seemed that Laurel was going to be his main love interest till they changed it in s3. Iris has no real purpose on the show and is obviously intended to be Barry's love interest. They sent Patty to another city and we won't see her a while so looks like she was just a temporary interest for Barry while Iris remains.
I just wish they would do away with Iris.

I've said it before. Either recast, write out, or change her role. Whatever, would never happen but this iteration of Iris has just been the absolute worst

I use to think Iris and Laurel were the same character. But really Iris is far worse. Her character literally contributes nothing but angst (my least favorite part of all these shows). At least Laurel can contribute with the law of be an extra body in a fight.

Laurel even had her great moments. Granted, they were the moments she would hilariously fail at crime fighting and get her arse kicked. But she still had them. Iris just sucks 100% of the time.

Maybe they should have her go away for a couple seasons...have her join the peace corps and go to the middle east. Have her actually work on her career by earning real cred in her field as a writer. Her growth as a character from gaining a bit more perspective than thinking she knows about life because she has never left her home town and worked at a coffee shop might help her more with fans.

Her only break as a writer came from the fact that she could blog about a superhero that was crushing on her and gave her exclusives she did not earn/deserve. She was soo talented she even came up with the name "The Streak"...are you serious...that sounds like something a Grandpa does to his whitie tighties.

It also plays in with everyone leaving Barry. The only difference is in time she will move back because she wants to be there. The fact that she is still "grieving" and was basically quoted as saying "frick a world where I end up with Barry" just a season ago...the break would do everyone involved good.

Meanwhile Barry could adapt and grow as an independent character.
