The potential is always there. If i had a dollar for every time some one said we had potential....geez.
Be nice to live up to it this year.

When this season is over both teams will be considered great.

Yes, I think this team may bet better. This could be the best LSU team of all time.

2006 maybe most talented and underachieved. That roster should've won the NC.
Do you 2013 bro?

2011 was a perfect storm. We had a rock solid and absolutely stocked D, and then added a game-changing playmaker to the mix. We may never see anything like that again.
I know I hoped that we would see the same kind of thing on offense this year, with Harris looking great from the jump and Fournette being that game-changer. Well, at least he is living up to the billing.
This team could be a great team if it all comes together, but it just isn't there yet. Harris will likely look better if the line can gel in pass protection and the WRs pick it up. The D should get better when Mills gets back and guys like Key get more reps and get more comfortable.
All that said, there isn't a comparison with 2011, even with improvement. This team looks more like 2005 from a talent, leadership, and continuity standpoint. They were close and won plenty of games, but weren't quite ready to be dominant.

Could I get a response from you in the "Buga: We Didn't Stop the Laughing" thread from earlier today? Just want to make sure you saw my reply.

Anyone still talking about this team better than the 2011 one?
It's also completely possible, and really wouldn't be surprising at this point, that nobody will be able to stop Fournette, and this team finish undefeated. Fournette is just that good, and Miles is the right coach for that plan; he knows from experience how to ride a running game to victory.
UGA's championship with Hershel is the perfect comparison. No matter what other teams might do, they might not be able to stop our beast.

2013 had a bad defense though thanks to early NFL departures.
2012 underachieved a lot though. That offense should've been explosive. I'm

When this season is over we will be wondering how good we could have been if we had even an average passing game, just like we have done 7 out of the 10 years in the Miles era.

Nope and never thought it was.

I miss the old LSU defense.

Unfortunately there is a continued connection with all of these teams. Miles was the head coach and despite all of the talent, they could only back into the championship game that they won. The Alabama game in 2012 will be a repeat complete destruction in November of 2015 if LSU in unable to pass. They may NEVER cross the 50 yard line in 2015.

2011 defense and special teams. 2007 offense for sure was better but the defense collapsed that year. 2011 would've stayed undefeated in 2007. I don't know if 2007 goes undefeated with 2011's schedule.
2007 was undefeated in regulation and won the BCSCG

The potential offense of the 2012 was there, but the potential wasn't realized until 2013, after the defense went pro. There is time for the 2015 team to realize their potential, but we need to see it down the stretch if we want 2015's roster to be in the discussion.
