Why do Tandy and carol even want to hang around?
They obviously don't like Tandy and she should be able to accept that and they can gtfo
And I wonder when we'll see tandy's brother again.

That's my biggest question. If I was phil, at some point in the first few days upon being back I'd have just said "ya know what? Frick these clowns. They hate me and I hate them, I'll take my wife and GTFO"
I'm just not sure what the end goal is here for this group. With sitcoms like this show, how much is already written in advance? I would imagine that whether it's by focus groups or surveys or just reading hte internet, the writers HAVE to know that every character on the show is universally disliked aside from phil and carol. Surely the group will get their comeuppance right?
On a separate note, any ideas what friggin todd has been up to? Is he keeping someone or something locked up in there, or maybe just hoarding food or something? He is morbidly obese so the "daddy's home" comment could very well have been him talking to food.

I think it's Carol that desperately wants a community, and this is the only community they know (and Tandy is faking wanting to be here for Carol's sake).
I do think Carol's antics (including this episode's cheese hoarding) are going to start to get on peoples nerves though, so I can picture a few go out and start exploring episodes in the future.
This show kind of makes me realize how ridiculous sitcoms are in general, though. Tandy certainly isn't the first television character to be treated like arse, but being in a post-apocalyptic world provides some valid reason for trying to stick with the situation.
Compare this to Al Bundy getting into arguments with his wife nearly weekly for 10+ years without seriously discussing the fact that divorce might be a reasonable solution (never mind how he afforded a multi-level home across the street from successful business people working as a mall employee with an unemployed wife in Chicago).

At the end of the episode my wife looked at me and said "frick Carol. If she actually loved Tandy she would tell them all to eat a dick and they would leave and go look for other people that weren't terrible"
