Andy Enfield and Lane Kiffin were both flashy hires. USC has a problematic mentality. The administration believes that any coach with charisma will succeed because every 5 star athlete wants to play there. Team chemistry, in-game strategy, and all of the other facets that make a college team successful are secondary to image.

Hiring Sark was a ludicrous attempt to relive the past. The So. Cal. mentality can't accept someone like Orgeron as coach, even though he was successful in an impossible situation created by the administration. Firing Kiffin might have been the right call, but doing it in the middle of the season at LAX was bush league and lacked class.

Look, I'm attending USC for grad school right now and would love to see the football team do well. Several of the athletes are real nice guys. As an academic institution, it's a great place. However, the arrogant culture of the athletic department and monied alumni turns me off.

Not too soon to start looking at prospective candidates.

I'm OK with Sark as the HC at USC. He's done a fine job recruiting as well as installing a modern offense. He just needs a top-notch DC to make this work.
