quote:That is to my own personal, selfish shame for not looking at the total package of his humanity (and mine). Yes, I want to see LSU at the top of every heap. But then, maybe winning no matter what is not everything... I think our Coach knows this and demonstrates a real ability to communicate this. Football is important, but the person is more important.
I have not always supported Coach Miles on his coaching calls
quote:Coach, you are truly the best - and it's not just for the fact that LSU won yesterday. It is because of who you are as a man and role model for so many people desperately needing this kind of example.
I will say that yes he is a class act and the young men do love him for the way he treats them .

Thanks for posting - one of the best and most compelling stories I've read on here.

The story here is not Les, but Cyd. Les is just being the fundamentally decent man that he is. Cyd on the other hand, is displaying raw courage and character. He drew a hand that no young man deserves and is fighting with everything he has. Bless him, and give him and his family strength. He is a lesson for the rest of us, an invaluable study in courage.
Here's to Cyd Ortis. A young man with Chest.

I live in Bham. Been following this story a while. Last year Sid came back to school, every student had P&G balloons and ribbons everywhere
They also got a makeup artist from the walking dead (his favorite show) to paint everyone like zombies.
I didn't know he took a turn for the worst. Breaks my heart

This story made my day. God bless this kid and his family. At least god will take care of him soon. This touches home badly as my mom had Stage IV Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Cancer is one of the nastiest diseases in the world. Its the worst feeling in the world to see a loved one or just anyone, physical, mental, emotional, and health itself deteriorate to the point of such awful suffering. Its the most disgusting thing you can ever see or feel. Les is a class act and his statement is very true about life. Dealing with my moms cancer has taught me to value everything so much more and has opened up a new side of me. I can see and feel the beauty of life so much more. I live every day to the fullest and I don't complain. I'm healthy and I have people in my life who care about me. What more could any human ask for. '
I will keep this kid and his family in my prayers. As hard as this is. I truly believe everything will be ok. I love inspirational stories like these.
God bless!!!

I'm pretty decent at navigating this site on a mobile device and even I accidentally hit the down vote instead of the upvote button sometimes. I think that's probably what happened considering the amount of voting going on.

ur fans rather listen to saban explain his loss. He is some English professor to them. he said nothing. Watch 130+ games of another coach, then come back to me.
What is your problem??? This thread is about Miles' wonderful gift to a dying kid and your hijacking the thread and acting like a total POS.
Incredible gesture coach!!!

Sid is my cousin as well. Couldn't have been a better game for him to go to! Props to Les Miles and LSU for making this happen.
