The Cubs moved to 3.0 games behind the Pirates for the first Wild Card spot and kept pace with the Cardinals, remaining 7.0 games back of them for the NL Central. I'm still setting my sights on the Cubs catching the Cardinals, but they will need a lot of help.

Kris Bryant is hitting .336 with 27 RBI and 16 XBH in his last 27 games.

Javier Baez and Addison Russell are amazing at the defense, but I'll give credit to Starlin Castro for his incredible diving stop against Aramis Ramirez to start an inning ending double play last night. He's played very well coming in as a bench player.

Lester and Arrieta really saved the bullpen...so hopefully they'll be ready go, but the more innings the better from Hendricks today.

I think Haren goes tomorrow, then a "bullpen day" on Saturday.

I'm not sure I like September baseball. Rizzo, Bryant and Castro were the only starters left on the starting lineup last night. I still have no idea why he took Fowler out of the game last night. It just seemed like he was fiddling to fiddle.

Starlin looks great, I really think it's a testament to Maddon that starlin has embraced his role off the bench, he will be an asset if we can get passed our wild card game and maybe even in the wild card game. Hendricks didn't look so good last time out so let's hope we get solid innings and make the bucs really start sweating. GO CUBBIES!!!!

Morton is no stranger to giving up the long ball. Hopefully we can break out of this little home run drought we are in.

I know his debut would be vs the best team in baseball but I'd rather call up Pierce Johnson to get a chance instead of a "bullpen day"

Alright fellas, I got a call from the Cubs office today. After 8 years on the waiting list I got the call. I'm eligible for season tickets. Anybody interested in joining in? No way can I justify 7 grand for 2 bleacher seats by myself.

Has Ramirez made an appearance since coming back last week? I don't remember seeing him. It would be huge if he can come back and pitch like he's capable.

Rizzo GDP...Coghlan took Kang out at 2B and Kang is hurt. Second straight play where Kang was taken out...first time was Schwarber on the botched double play.

Cubs got a run, though. Rizzo is struggling.

i think Cogs just browk Kang's ankle on a takeout slide. Was legal but Pirates will take exception. He went kinda wide
