If he stays out of trouble he'll probably only do 40-45 days

14 grams is more than most people carry around for personal use.

I buy double that, an ounce, whenever I get some. I get mine legally so I could go get small amounts daily if I wanted to but like everything else it is cheaper to buy in bulk and an ounce lasts about a month so it's still fresh by the time it's gone.

He probably had all 14 grams broken up into individual bags for sale, had a gangster role of cash and had a scale with him.

Are you saying that because the sale of alcohol isn't controlled well that Marijuana should just remain illegal for that reason?

I'm saying quit comparing it to alcohol. Represent it on its own.

Justifying marijuana on the basis that alcohol is legal is a fallacy. Alcohol is a scourge on society that causes pain and problems every where it is present.

Lighten up Francis. I have plenty of alcohol in my presence and I'm not feeling any pain.

I never claimed he had zero priors .he's had a few scrapes. I dont see how that compounds into 3 months in jail for a teenager holding a half oz of something thats legal in a half dozen states

Loll, no.

Nobody got 90 days for 1/2 a lid in 1985, much less now.

I don't disagree with you on that at all. The majority of people I speak with regarding this subject believe Marijuana should be illegal because "it's a harmful drug" yet feel alcohol should remain perfectly legal as if it is completely different than Marijuana. You're viewpoint is obviously different.

I do agree they are physically different but their affects are similar while I believe alcohol to be more dangerous. My point in comparing them is they should either both be illegal or both be legal. The comparison is necessary in my opinion based on the original post.

If a kid gets caught with a 12 pack of beer, he gets a ticket for minor in possession and pays a fine. This kid (if true) is getting 90 Days for what I personally view as the same thing. Obviously, the law is different. A kid shouldn't be on possession of either but it's ridiculous the law treats them so differently. All I'm saying.
