Am I the only one tht feels like Netflix wants to become just another channel?
This started in 2011 when they decided not to renew their deal with Starz. They were at a crossroads back then, Starz wanted NetFlix to go to a tiered pricing model and even HBO had said they'd give NetFlix "meaningful content" (probably the deal Amazon got) if they charged more. NetFlix said our customers are watching more TV series than movies, and because we know exactly what they like to watch we think we can produce things they'll want to watch. 4 years later here we are and they are very much comparable to HBO in many ways and not the cable TV disruptor we had all hoped for.

I like being able to find some good movies on Netflix, I don't go to the theater anymore so I am always way behind on new movies. Not going to complain though, there are other ways to watch movies and I love their original content.
Watching new movies is really simple and not that expensive, it's called DVDs by mail. Spend $20-$40 on a decent ripping program and you can even watch them whenever you want to keep the supply of movies coming in.
