How about these solutions:
Reopen mental health facilities and properly staff and fund them, Invest in poor communities, improve education, stop shiting on blue collar jobs as a country. Allow for high school level trade schools, decriminalize all drug possession.
That will do more to lessen gun violence than any guy restrictions you propose.

Not at all... as I stated before, if someone wants to kill someone you can take away every violent weapon out there and that person is still going to find something to get the job done. You can't go around banning everything just because it poses a threat to someone. Hell, you could kill someone with a piece of rope, should we ban rope? We haven't banned cars and they've been killing people for many years. My point is that everyone wants the right to bear arms, but they don't want to give those same rights to criminals because they have committed crimes in the past. What if there was a guy who had a felony charge of credit card fraud. It's in no way associated with owning a weapon, but because of that felony, he is no longer allowed to own a weapon or even be in the possession of one.

what other options would y'all suggest?
Back out black people from the #s and show him we are on par with anyone. Same with education and everything else. I saw someone who did so and it was mind blowing.

Where are you going with this?

Oh shite. Marine Corps v. Airforce throw down

that it's against the law for a convicted felon to own or be in the possession of a firearm. However, I feel that in that instance a man should still be able to purchase a firearm if he wanted to be able to protect his self or his family.
As for the Marine, thank you for your service. I only wish you knew how to carry on a conversation rather than resort to 3rd grade tactics. If your plan was to offend me or cause me to get into a heated internet battle with you because you said "frick you" you've failed. You can try your bad arse attitude elsewhere.

There will never be a way to stop criminals from obtaining guns illegaly
So, you agree your own proposal is useless. It's only that do-gooder, liberal urge to "do something" whether it makes sense or not. All your proposal does is make it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to protect themselves.

my proposal isn't useless. It was simply a proposal. I am perfectly fine with it being rejected, but the reasoning behind it presented by the masses in this thread is stupid. The reasoning given was "we have the 2nd amendment for a reason... but frick a convicted felon from getting those same laws applied to them." Or it was "Mental illness is a real thing in this country when it comes to mass shootings. However, frick a dumb bitch if she kills her kids and then gets off by reason of insanity." I've not seen anything different in this thread that is a reasonable way to curtail firearm violence.

Rightfully so.

The simple solution to this is don't commit a felony.

Correct. And if you don't want to have shootouts while you're at church, the movies, at school, then you're obviously unamerican and a socialist.
Goddamit, Clames. I should have realized all your sorcery in breaking down the studies cited stems from your desire to see an increase in mass shootings. I hope you can live with yourself.

When you commit a crime against society, the right's that you have as a citizen are taken away, including freedom even when you are imprisoned for that crime. By committing a felony, you are deemed as a threat to society and your rights as an american are taken as punishment.

Yeah, I'm a felon with warrants who goes to a station to buy a gun.

- Alright, so what "qualifications" get you into said mental health facility?
- You can invest in the poor communities, but that doesn't fix the home lives. It doesn't fix the parents not having or wanting to get jobs. Why go out and get a job if you can get welfare, or FEMA, or any other government assistance and not have to worry about doing anything? (this is a comment geared towards all races, please don't think i'm trying to single out any one race)
- Improve education? Have you seen the dumb shite they are teaching these kids now a days? lol. Common Core math, as if it's supposed to make it easier on the kids. It's the dumbest shite i've ever seen. Further more, you can only do so much to improve education but you can't change the kids in the classroom if they don't want to learn.
- I agree with the blue collar jobs so no rebuttal here lol.
- I didn't know they did away with the vocational schools. When I was in HS back in '03 they had vocational schools which allowed kids to graduate high school but also have a certification in a career field which enabled them to find jobs much easier.

Has nothing to do with it. There are disgusting, vile human beings of all walks of life in America. Let's keep race out of the discussion. Last I checked, there wasn't a black man running around committing a mass murder.

The US leads the world in gun ownership, yet doesn't break the top 100 in terms of homicides per 100,000 people.
It's a violence problem. Not a gun problem.
People who think that if you ban guns, all the criminals will just magically not commit crimes anymore are some of the most ignorant people on the planet.

I know. The city of Kennessaw, GA passed a law that every household must own a firearm of some sort. They have the lowest crime rate of any city their size in America. I'm pretty sure that no criminal is going to try and break into any house in that city because of their fear of being shot.
I'm not sure where everyone thinks I am advocating the banning of guns. I guess my posts come off as such and I apologize for that. I am just trying to think of ways that we can stop all of these shootings. We all know the media will always talk about mass shootings which in my opinion only fuels the fire for the next idiot who wants to get covered in the media. I'm just glad that this dumbass offed himself so that we wouldn't have to hear about his upcoming trial, etc.
