I guess it's just personal preference like yall say.
Not a fanboy by any means, but I've never had any issues with Twitch.

I'm all in. I can import people and I'm sure some of my favs will eventually do streams.

OK, so a question from the streaming side, how do I make money from it?

Wth does that mean?
They can end your stream if you are playing games?

Lol no, it's about having music playing and monetizing your stream. Like monetizing a normal video but having a song you don't own, in which they would take it down on a copyright claim, etc, only that applies to streams as well to an extent.

I like Twitch, but YTG is awesome.
Oh and I can now watch stream while at work

Thanks for that UH. I really don't know anything about the YouTube side of earning. I wonder if it is possible to do the stwuff like twitch with streamtip etc.

It's still just Beta, so I'm sure we're seeing a pretty bare bones version in terms of overall features so it's hard to say.
I mean, anyone can set up donations and have a mod/bot post them from time to time, and YouTube uses "Cards" but I'm not 100% sure on how they work, I believe kind of like an annotation.
If you are partnered however, the donate icon is a dollar sign and it's in the type box in chat opposite the smiley/emoji. It uses Google Wallet for donations and goes directly into the streamers bank account, which is a big step up from using a third party such as PayPal that has been under a lot of heat of late, no scam or chargeback potential, no fees.

that would be pretty big. I wonder if Youtube will set up some kind of subscriber system similar to Twitch's.

Twitch is fuuuuuucked if they don't up their game.

YouTube's harsh copyright policy will prevent most the big name streamers from moving over from Twitch. Hopefully though it gets going enough to force Twitch to improve because they've become complacent without any real competition.

in which they would take it down on a copyright claim

quote:Those guidelines apply to all livestreams. Not just monetized ones. They will literally interrupt your stream if you're listening to copyrighted music. League streamers won't touch YTG with a 10 foot pole.

Ehhh it's not much different from Twitch, Spotify like with Twitch, has a playlist that is legal for YouTube as well as Twitch.
Just like with Twitch, if you highlight a video with copyrighted music, Twitch will mute the audio automatically just like YouTube always has for their videos. So how do you get around that stuff? Both have specific playlists available that are allowed.
At the end of the day, once YouTube gets out of beta for this, the features and quality will begin the slow end of Twitch if they stand pat. Not listening to certain music while gaming, is not going to prevent people from switching to a platform that has better quality video, better encoding/stability for said video, easier donate/scam proof donations for partners, quality options for all streamers without having to be a partner, and better overall features such as the DVR and more to come post beta.
Twitch will have to get on the ball with some features and probably a UI overhaul before too long if they want to maintain viewers/streamers and not start losing them. As it stands, YTG puts it to shame, and sites like the Verge, VentureBeat, Wired, TechCrunch, basically all of your major tech sites, are in love with YouTube Gaming over Twitch. And it's still in Beta.
At the very least, this option will force Twitch to improve. And Twitch has a lot of room to improve.

There are legal playlists available. Also anything that is a remix playlist, or a hypeM, is legal. Most League streams I watch on Twitch use HypeM and listen to remixes or nightcore or other legal music to stream on any platform. Twitch will mute your highlights with any copyrighted music which is why so many upload their highlights to YouTube.
But again, live music of certain types isn't going to prevent people from switching to a superior platform as it stands now.
