That and they had the talent to win it all again that season. They had a couple bad breaks against Florida and Arkansas.

I understand this sentiment, but that wouldn't have changed anything really in pretty much any year. Miss State was unranked at this time a year ago and by mid Oct they were #1 anyway. However, not that there is a playoff then the AP poll is just as meaningless as it is in basketball.
