Falcons want to be like big bro.

Smart on MB seeing as Dome only has 10-15 years left. Just feel like the name loses some luster now.

I would guess we will be looking for another naming partner when the agreement ends. I hope they do not terminate the agreement when the Atlanta stadium opens.

Their US headquarters are in Atlanta

That's a little surprising. Do the Saints not have something akin to a non-compete clause in their contract with Mercedes?

Why would the saints give a shite? They are getting paid.

Yes, as mentioned, Mercedes just recently moved a huge part of their operation to Atlanta.

Because not being the sole NFL stadium with a specific branding could be seen as diminishing the prestige of said stadium? I understand they're still getting paid, and that buildings don't have exclusive rights to a brand (see: Trump properties), just curious if there were any legal hoops Mercedes-Benz had to jump through to make this deal with Atlanta.

I don't think there would be. American Airlines has naming rights for both Heat and Mavericks arenas.

Cool.
The Mercedes Benz Super Anus.

So maybe Mercedes was just buying up the Superdome so they could implode that shithole?
The plan is happening. Wait for it...

Ernst Lieb was MB's US VP at the time of the negotiations for the Superdome's naming rights in 2011, the announcement of the deal was one of his last acts as an employee of MB, he was fired soon after publicly for other things but....
There was scuttlebutt that the senior MB management folks in Stuttgart thought he paid too much for the naming rights and that the Superdome might not be the exact correct venue that MB wanted to be associated with because of it's Katrina history.
PS: Dickbutt & the ATL- a perfect match!
