I've been thinking a lot about Cooks from the BS thread talk that he is only a possession receiver. What are your expectations from him?
I posted these similar statured players career YPC avg-
Career Avg YPC
5-10 178 DeSean Jackson 17.7
5-10 185 Santonio Holmes 15.5
5-10 183 TY Hilton 15.4
5-9 185 Steve Smith 14.5
Oldtimers
5-9 175 Mel Gray 18.9
5-11 200 DEVERY 17.9
5-9 185 Mark Duper 17.4
I see similarity to several of these in different aspects. Thinking more another player that I could see Cooks reflecting even more is what Randall Cobb has become. Both slot and downfield effectiveness and is in running plays too. They both broke into the NFL under age 21 also. His 2014 stats are a reasonable expectation for Cooks breaking out as a #1 go-to guy.
5-10 191
91 catches
1287 yds
13.4 ypc
12 TDs
11 rushes
37yds
What say ye? What do you see for stats, role, or player comparison?

Not really answering your question, but I'll say this...He's a complete WR, not a possession WR. That guy saying he was a possession WR kind of pissed me off.

In terms of skill set Randall Cobb is exactly what comes to mind.

So I compared him to Emmanuel Sanders last year preseason and was bashed because most didn't think Sanders was that good. I still believe that is the most on point comparison.

I don't think he's limited to being a possession WR. He has the talent to be more and his stature isn't going to be the deciding factor.
But, I don't think you should ignore the fact that last year, his YPC wasn't anywhere near the guys you listed.

Steve Smith. He can beat you anywhere on the field and has the will to be a great player. Plus size comparisons. Also a great catcher.
Only thing you can't say yet about him that you could about Smith is that Smith could beat double teams consistently.

leave them off here bro.
different game now. Even different than it was for Devery when he was here.
I'm trying not to lose interest myself. If it weren't for the Saints... I'd probably settle for college football... barf.
