quote: 21Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 22When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. 23Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
This is why it makes no sense that Christians are Republicans. They should all be socialists because if you are rich you literally have zero chance of getting into heaven according to Jesus.....but of course they ignore that.

Socialists give to the government, not the poor.
Very big difference between socialism and the teachings of Jesus. But of course, you'll ignore all of that.

Jesus said to give to the poor, not steal from the rich and then give to the poor. There is no need for coercion, for it almost always derives from a sin. If a person becomes rich and decides to not give to the needy, then he or she must answer to God for that decision. It doesn't honor God to steal from those that are blessed to give to the impoverished. We cannot give what isn't ours. The morality of free market capitalism and Christianity go hand in hand.
