I swear I must get at least 6-10 calls a day from all types of different people trying to sell me shite from Gold and Silver to pens and paper clips, long distance, credit cards, etc...sometimes I know its a telemarketer so I'll just pick up the phone and hang it back up.

My question is to you people that do this for a living, how does it feel when I let you ramble on with your sales pitch for a few seconds then hang up right in the middle of your sentence? How many times in a day does that happen to you?

How does that make you feel?

Share some stories with us about people that just get plain rude and irate with you?

I did once ask the telemarketer if I could have his home phone number then asked him what time he had dinner with his family so I knew when to call back...sometimes you just have to throw it right back at them. It is fun to try to get them off of their script. They are not good at thinking on their feet.

Had a roommate who did it for lsu engineering

He bragged about how he got xxxx.xx amount this day and that.

He laughed because he lied to the alumni, he was an english major.

I did surveys for LSU's PPRL back in college.

We didn't sell anything, but I had to cold call people all day. People can be rude as frick.

If anyone does I'd love to buy them a beer sometime.

Then smash their face in it.

It must suck for them...it is just a job for them but I know its almost like a standard to be rude as frick to them. I usually cut them off fast if they bug me at work but one was persistent. I finally got him to shut up and told him I would let him do his sales pitch if I could tell him a knock knock joke fist. I said knock knock...he said who's there....I said CLICK and hung up the phone. Was a good day

I bet if they record the lines for training purposes you would hear some crazy shite.

Sales drives the economy. This is just a sales pitch.

I don't do b2c but for my own business I make b2b calls.

But I don't pitch anything. Just talk. Look up Ari Galper.

My general response is "Sorry I don't have time to be scammed." and they hang up.

I give fake info to them when I have time. It's always funny when I tell them my name is Harry Seaward or Benjamin Dover and I live on Drury Lane in Mianus, Conn.

Sometimes I ask how tall the building they work in is. Then I ask them to stay on their headset and go jump off the roof. I wish AIDS and cancer upon them and their families.

Y'know the standard stuff.
