Trying to gain access to an admin controlled laptop

I was able to keep my laptop from my job when I recently left and the admin controls are still enabled. I can't update anything, nor can I install anything because I "don't have admin" access.
What do I need to do to disable these restrictions or just delete the account altogether? Been trying and needing to do this for a while now. Someone told me that they can do it remotely. I just never got back to asking. I use my phone mostly for whatever I need to do on the internet. Just got a new printer and I'm trying to install it and I get the dreaded "You don't have access." I've been googling to try to find an answer, but the directions I find, "I don't have access."
Can anyone help me out or point me in the right direction? Would it be a bad idea to let someone in remotely to help me out?
TIA

Could you clarify if it is joined to a domain or if there is just a local profile set to admin but you are a restricted user?

#1 - I'm amazed they let you walk away with a corporate asset.
#2 - I'm amazed they let you walk away with a corporate asset without wiping the entire file system.
#3 - YOU should wipe the file system and install fresh OS, your choice.

I would prefer to backup the data and wipe it clean. If you don't want to go that route, I have booted into this software and set an account as an administrator. You can also blank out the current admin user password to where you can login to it.

I have a boot disk that can reset any password on a Windows based domain controller. This would allow you to access windows as an admin and make changes

crack disk
Something I've been wondering about... Suppose you have a PC protected with Bitlocker or other FDE, so the boot-time crack disks won't work. However, you encounter the PC sitting at the password-protected Windows login. Is there a standard cracking tool for that situation, when rebooting to run a live CD would lose all access due to the FDE, and you have to break the Windows interactive login right then and there?
