FIFA released a new trailer and a bunch of information about 16 at Gamescom today. LINK
Here's a quick rundown on what they've announced so far.
GAMEPLAY IMPROVEMENTS (lot of these are vague until we can actually see them and play with them)
- New defensive agility
- New defensive AI
- New tackling mechanics and animations
- Control in midfield...looks like a greater emphasis on build up
- Better interception intelligence on passes
- Tighter passing mechanics
- "WOW Moments" (no idea)
- No-touch dribbling
- Better crossing accuracy
- More variety in shot types
CAREER MODE
- Nine preseason tournaments to choose from for friendlies
- Player training... "The aim here is to allow for greater growth in youth squad players and to create more value to the club. Focus on your star players to keep a strong starting XI, develop youth players to increase transfer values and build your funds, or transform your club into the next Ajax or Barcelona, a breeding ground for the future stars of world football."
- New commentator storylines
- Free transfers can happen anytime, not just during the window
- Scouting reports last longer
- Two-year loans are now a thing, as are six-month instead of three-month deals
- Unlimited friendly subs
- "While the transfer window is open, we have tuned the number of ‘high-profile’ moves by big players to better match the number of changes that typically happen in the real-world." The CPU deals in 15 were ridiculous, so this is good news.
- Tuned transfer values for players
SOMETHING CALLED AN ULTIMATE TEAM DRAFT
PRESENTATION
- A bunch of new and updated player faces
- New body types, mostly due to the addition of women's national teams
- Dynamic weather
- Over 900 new chants
- ****VANISHING SPRAY****
- Sideline celebrations, running to the camera celebrations
- New commentary languages
NEW STADIUMS FOR...
- Borussia Monchengladbach
- Seattle Sounders
- River Plate
- The Saudi League (Two teams, I think)
- Marseille
- The new EPL teams
- Portsmouth (FIFA's creative director, a huge Portsmouth supporter, died of cancer earlier this year)
----------------
Pretty happy with a bunch of the career mode upgrades, if they're implemented correctly. The amount of transfer zaniness was too much, and control on how your players develop will be nice. It would also be nice to actually be able to keep your prize money from season to season.

Hopefully they did something to allow you to actually grow your youth players. Sounds like they tried. I like unlimited subs in friendlies.

What's the deal with the Saudi League? It's not even the best league in the Middle East.

Have specifically wanted all of this stuff for a while too. Surprised unlimited subs in friendlies took so damn long to add.

shameless microtrans cash grab.
could be interesting depending on the prizes turn out to be, doubt ill check it out.
the career mode improvements sound great, specifically player training. futhead's review made it sound like just the thing that was needed to develop your younger prospects.
also something called Story of the Season, but not too sure what it is. best i could tell was some kindof watered down NBA2k story mode.

Tried Google but couldn't find anything, any word on the soundtrack or when they're going to release it?
Thought last year's took a drop from 14 (tGOAT for me) and 13 (2nd or 3rd fave) but I still ended up enjoying most of the music and found a couple new bands to listen to.

Are they fixing all the fricked up shite from FIFA 2015? That would count as a solid feature imo.
