When has Leo taken a role outside his typical role or comfort zone? Don't get me wrong, I don't blame him for the path he's taken but right now he just comes off as good leading man like a Cruise or Ford.

I think his portrayal of Howard Hughes in The Aviator is an example of this. Fairly brilliant. On par with Tommy Lee Jones back in the day. Jason Robards did a good job with a more fictionalized (or at least unconfirmed) portrayal - the role tends to draw good actors. Leo did a great job with that one - and an obsessive compulsive character would probably be outside of the comfort zone of most folks, even those who might be obsessive compulsive themselves.

Terrible movie, but I enjoy it.

Say what you want about the details of his specific acting, and I can't say I've seen all of his works, but I can say I've enjoyed every one of the movies that I have seen with him in. So take that for whatever the hell it's worth.

His role in Django Unchained comes to mind, was he really comfortable with that role? Because it's totally different than anything he had ever done before that. I can see the comparison to Cruise but Harrison Ford? Seriously clark? Wow just wow.

I don't think he's GOAT status but he's certainly a top 20 actor. That's one of the most ludicrous things said on this board....name me 20 better. That have actually been in mainstream movies, not some indie/sundance flick
