Because it's hard work and most people are lazy and selfish. If done right, it's most rewarding.

Wow, it's like your post just downvotes itself.

I try not to bitch too much, and I've just about given up on even suggesting anything to the wife. Last time I asked her to turn off a light switch, she asked me to leave because I was being too much of an a-hole.

I have figured out that observing an overall lack of effort, and never expecting any help with anything other than the inside things that she can't complete on her own, and a lack of any desire to get close in the bedroom, has turned me into an a-hole. Guilty as charged, but I'm not complaining.

And yes, I am the one that is going to incorporate the LSU/Auburn game into my 20 yr. anniversary, expecting nothing in the form of fun with her. Neither can get off work for a trip, and if we did she'd just want to get massages and pedicures and go shopping, all of which she'll do in BR.

And for all that say "if you would just do . . . she might . . .", I call bullshite. Been toeing the line for 20 and have tried hard, nothing has really changes except my own expectations.

No, I'm not complaining . . . but I can see where some people would

IT takes work, something kids don't seem to get. You want a successful marriage then you have to work your arse off at it.

Hang around better people. None of the people I consider friends sit around bitching about the spouses.

Because the old adage, "If you're stuck with a lemon, make lemonade" … doesn't work with people.

Really don't care about the down votes. Truth be the truth brother. Anything good in life is not easy.

Please explain your reasoning. What was it that you don't agree with?

You're just spouting clichés which is annoying, but you're doing it about loving your wife which is annoyinger.

That and I'm just in kind of a shitty mood.

The large majority of people probably regret getting married.

The biggest reason is because a lot of people get married when they should be breaking up. By the time you date, realize you like each other, get engaged, plan the wedding, be engaged for an appropriate amount of time, you don't even really like each other that much by the time you are standing at the altar.

If 50% of men generally make good husbands and 50% of women generally make good wives

and it takes a good man and a good woman to make a good marriage, which I believe it does,

that gives you a 25% chance of not having plenty of reasons to bitch about your marriage.

The odds are just not in our favor.

Mainly because the OT is mostly full of heathens who do not understand the sacrament of holy Matrimony.

They're all doomed and headed for the fiery pits below. Repent before it's too late.

All these earthquakes in Oklahoma is the sign that we are in the end times. Rapture is soon approaching.
