1. Listen to the law enforcement officer

2. Proceed with your life

By following those simple steps, you can be a happy American.

Yes, excessive force was used, but you should never give the police officer the option to use force. This guy did and paid the ultimate price.

This is a magic car I tell you. MAGIC!!!

Ya know. I've actually had my head in a car window when someone started driving off. They didn't realize. I was helping a small child thru the window.

At no point did I ever think my life was in danger. Mainly, because I'm not fricking retarded and I know that unless I do something to cause me to go UNDER a car...........unless I DO SOMETHING to cause that, it ain't running me over. I simply backed out and got my head bonked pretty good.

If this cop thought his life was in danger, then on top of committing a crime, he outed himself as intellectually dull.

Red herring alert.

This would still have been a crime if the driver was white.

Stop the bullshite. He wasn't being dragged. There is pretty compelling evidence that says he was not being dragged, but was holding on, as in he chose to hold onto the vehicle. It was his choice to reach into the vehicle and latch onto the vehicle and his choice to hold on after the vehicle started moving. This was voluntary and he was not being dragged. If I choose to grab onto a train and choose not to let go when it starts moving can I shoot the engineer because 'I felt my life was in danger'? Sure I can. And that would be murder. The cop murdered the guy. He's going to rot in prison for a long time.

Some of you people have really low standards for what calls for deadly force.

Care to explain how one gets ran over standing outside the driver door? I remember taking vectors in math class and mathematically that would only be possible if a)the cop jumped in front of the car or b) the driver made a U turn and came back at him. Neither of those two things came close to happening in the TWO seconds that it took for the guy to close his door and then get his head blown off.

This is the opposite of freedom. This isn't fricking Nazi Germany. No one should have to fear for their life because they don't want to obey orders. That's bullshite. You're forgetting a small but very relevant fact - some LEO's are the worst criminals out there.

This cop and many many others all claim that they were simply conducting a minor traffic stop and that 'if the suspect had just listened and obeyed orders they would be going home right now'. That's fricking bullshite and we all know it. They will kidnap your arse, take you away from your family and put you in jail for years or even for life in some cases for something as small as a bag of weed. Happens all the time. It's unfortunate, but this is another example of a cop turning a 'minor traffic stop' into the biggest mistake of his life and he's going to pay for it. He's already taken one life and ruined his own life over 'a minor traffic stop' and that doesn't include the countless lives that this indirectly impacts. People are sick of the 'minor traffic stop' bullshite.

Yes, because I didn't try to HANG ON to a fricking moving car.

A wise choice. Alas, if I had hung on, the car would not have been "dragging" me, I would have been "holding on".

Officer's jobs are getting tougher by the day. Admittedly, it's ashame the shooting took place but WHY try to run??

Do we just need to make examples of people that do this and strictly forbid use of force unless fired upon or attacked?

Is it ok for people to just decide "nope", I'm leaving and you can't do shite about it?

Obey the damn law and this tragedy would not have happened.

The car did appear to go to the immediate left, at least that's where it ended up.
If you were standing next to it, as close as the officer was, it could strike you and you would certainly feel threatened.

It appears like he got knocked down, immediately got back up, and shot the guy. It looks like he is standing or kneeling when he fires.

I don't know what position he was in when he fired, but I know what position he was NOT in.

He was NOT being drug.

Cause, if he was completely off his feet with his left arm in the car as it moved while he was being drug BACKWARDS, then that fricker is ready for the olympics if he used his left arm (without legs) to elevate his body to get his right shoulder to that height before the shot.

The guy was in NO frickING PHYSICAL DANGER. He shot cause the guy was fleeing. PERIOD.

Thanks for the ebonics lesson. That's cute because you think I'm black. You sound just like a cop. Your story is a terrible example. The driver wasn't carrying a weapon.

What would your opinion be if this guy caused an accident and killed someone in your family (while under the influence)?
