Baptiste with a nice PBU on Toon and Griffin. SJB has looked pretty good the first two days. Seriously

He's a bust from his red shirt year though.

I've never understood the problem people have with SJB.

Add the people downing the SJB pick to that too. They said from the get go he would take some time to develop. How about we wait and see before labeling him a bust?

I hate to be that guy, but most of the people who post here if I had to guess have never even touched a football. People don't understand player development. Many times even first rounders need a year or so to get better, depending on the position also. So if someone doesn't do much their rookie year, in their opinion, they are a bust. It takes time for most big CBs to understand technique, especially one who only played CB 2 years in college.

Eta: OH CRAP, Peat struggled yesterday, he will never be good.

On draft day, someone made the comparison to Richard Sherman, mainly in his stature.

Everyone was upset he wasn't microwavable.

I think its the timeline:

1. Draft 2014 and TC: Yes, we took a Sherman-clone. He's going to be good in a couple years. For now we have...CHAMP BAILEY, a solid #2!

2. TC: Champ gets cut

3. Season: Defense SUCKS arse, SJB doesn't play so he sucks! DIXON GETS PLAYING TIME OVER HIM!!??!?!

4. Season End: SJB IS A frickING BUST!

5. Now: SJB IS STILL A frickING BUST!

I have faith in our rookies. There is a huge learning curve for some. You're a college kid going against professionals. I couldn't even imagine the pressure much less having to go up against an NFL player for the second time in pads.

Yep.

I think he is going to be great, if healthy.

Day 4 notes:

Vaccaro is very much "back",he sacked drew on a blitz(beating spiller). He also knocked down armstead in pursuit and got into it with josh morgan after a PBU.

He was stellar

Kasim Edebali had a very nice day again and is really stepping up post JG. Richardson impressed again and had another sack.

Tyeler Davidson was very good as well. The young DLine are playing really well so far in camp.

LB Ronald Powell(last year's 5th rounder) is quietly having a great camp and was disruptive. He got some looks in the first team. Kikaha had a bit of a rough day.

Peat looked a lot better today but still had a couple of misteps.

Sunseri/Kenny Philips/Bush were really solid today and the
safety spot has been a strength.

Brandon Coleman had another amazing day and had a difficult TD catch. Sen Jones gained some ground with a nice day but got yanked for a play due to messing up.

Cooks was cooks

Breaux kept up his consistency with a PBU he should've picked.

Yeah it's exciting to hear how dynamic the defense looks but we all know what a weakness the OL was last year so it's hard to know what to think if this new revamped line is getting its lunch eaten every day.

I like that Vacarro is getting into scrapes with guys from the offensive unit. I remember a lot of that his rookie offseason and not so much of it last offseason. Hopefully this is a sign he's ready to come back with a big season.
