Honeymoon there for 7 nights at Sandals Halcyon. Seriously just got back yesterday. As said, island infrastructure is poor, but the resort was fine. Staff is attentive and the views/water is gorgeous.

Probably won't go back though. Thought it was going to be a bit more elegant than it was. Rooms were ok but nothing special. Food and drink felt like I was on a cruise ship a little nicer than a Carnival. I guess you can't expect to be wined and dined extensively at an all-inclusive resort.

Overall probably would have gone somewhere else just because food and drink are a huge priority to me.

I wouldn't judge the whole island based on your stay at Sandals.

If those things are important to you stay at pretty much any other resort. I would rather stay at Jade Mountain for 4 nights than Sandals for 7.

I don't mean to be a dick, but isn't that sort of conventional wisdom of what you're getting with something like Sandals? What could you have seen or heard that gave you a different expectation?

We stayed at sandals grande st Lucian last year for our honeymoon and loved it. Just my observation, but the halycen is the worst sandals resort there is. It really isn't a sandals resort because it was just a hotel bought out by sandals
