Reuben Randle probably would have torched Kirkpatrick if they had thrown his way just one time.
Randle had three receptions in the game.
Obviously, they threw his way MORE than one time.

I would honestly say, you've lost your mind

Surprised at myself, but I'm agreeing with the OP.

While Art Briles hasn't won a title at Baylor, he built that program from nothing into a great program. Before he came to Baylor they hadn't made a bowl game in over 20 years

love les miles as our coach. LSU fans should support him 100%.
I do. He just gave us the best 10 year stretch in lsu history.

so let me get this straight... are you riding the fence or are you preparing yourself for the transition from Leslie-lover to calling for him to be fired when LSU goes 8-4 again next year?
I wouldn't call myself a "Leslie lover" so much as a supporter who has seen him coach great teams in recent years and I'm hopeful we'll be back. I'm cautioualy optimistic about the season but if we do have another 8-4 year with a more mature team I'll have a few more doubts going forward. This is the year for Les to prove he's still a great coach.

In response to your Linc of Mark Ritch. Any coach would say that about a guy who was kicked off the team, and say his current starter would have won the job. I remember several Sec,cbs, analyst saying on TV Mett had the upper hand before he left. I say again. Mett was developed by another coach as a freshmen not Les,and his staff. CLM and his staff have yet to take a true freshmen and turn him into a pro.!!!! That is a big problem

Agreed some people are trying to convince themselves he's great. Honestly I believe CLM is #8-9ish. Urban, Saban, Jimbo, Patterson, James Franklin (what he did at Vandy was arguably the best coaching job in the past 50 years!! Penn state will be great very soon, Gus with Muschamp is going to be filthy. These are my top 6 coaches.

Yes any idiot knows JM and Flynn were tutored by Jimbo for 3 years that was my point! CLM staff members have yet to develope a true freshmen qb into a pro. The only one in the past 7 years was under Ritch his 1st year and 2nd year a Juco coach. Then Cam polished him. Hey we'll see how good Cam is with Harris and Jennings. Harris is faster and has almost as good of an arm as Mett.

This is a quote taken from R-i-c-h-t on April 23, 2010:
quote:
Richt also emphasized, despite Mettenberger's strong effort in the spring game earlier this month, that Murray had the strongest spring and would have entered the fall as the starter regardless of Mettenberger's status, though Gray could technically move another run at the job in preseason practices.
Only a frickin' idiot would name a starting quarterback before the Spring Game even takes place...
quote:
I remember several Sec,cbs, analyst saying on TV Mett had the upper hand before he left.
I remember several SEC and CBS analysts saying that Ryan Perrilloux was on the kickoff coverage unit...
quote:And what the hell is your point in bringing this up? Russell and Flynn were inherited and played from 2005-07, Mettenberger played from 2012-13. Our quarterbacks from 2014 aren't even draft eligible yet.
CLM and his staff have yet to take a true freshmen and turn him into a pro!
So you're saying that CLM and his staff (and let's be honest, the only name that bears mentioning is Gary Crowton), failed to develop two quarterbacks that were recruited as true freshmen and saw actual game action during their careers.
Meanwhile, under Cam Cameron, LSU put up it's greatest passing season since 2001, put a QB into the NFL for the first time since 2007, and has commitments from two Top 5 QBs for the first time since 2006...

Wow your such an idiot you just posted a quote from Richt on April 23, 2010. The spring game for Georgia was April 10 2010!! Boooooom! After the spring game and he knew Mett would be gone he makes that statement about Murray getting the starting job. My reason for bringing up Flynn and Russell is Miles doesn't get credit for them Saban and Jimbo developed them. It relates to the OP's stupid post about Miles being the best coach in the country because as I've said now 8 times Miles staff has yet to develop a qb as a true freshmen and turn him pro.
Posted on 7/28/15 at 9:24 pm to Tiger79
No shite... And Richt would have been an idiot to declare a starter until after the game was played. He did so two weeks afterwards..
And since when is the sole consideration of a head coach that of quarterback development?

Dude type in Georgia spring game 2010 in Google and you'll see and espn article written on April 12th saying Mett threw better, and jacksonville newspaper April 11th Richt was quoted as saying "I couldn't name a starter if I had to". Those two articles prove my point Mett was either tied with or ahead of Murray meaning he was learning from the system. My initial statement Mett was already prepped by Bobo. And Richt then Cam polished him up. Argue all you want my point stands Mett was on track to be a Greene, Stafford type player, and after he was released Richt takes up for Murray in the article you posted. This validates my point that our head coach can't develop qb's as freshmen to pro's. Ergo taking CLM out of the running of best coach in college football.

You seriously just asked "when does sole consideration of head coach mean you have to develop a great qb ?? Well it is not the only thing, but it is a huge part of being the best. The OP said Miles was the best. All great coaches have developed great qb play at some point.
Bear Bryant - Bart starr, Joe Namath,
Walsh- Montana
Bellicheck-Brady
BYU coach- Steve young, Jim McMann. Yes there are some championship coaches who won titles pre-1960 by only running the ball but most of them still developed good qb for their era.

I am feeling that way too. Just as good of a recruiter with better game planning and execution.
