Am I the only one that wishes Mcgonagall was actually used more? She wasn't really written about as much as the other characters. What was written you could tell she was very powerful, but Rowling never seemed to getting to writing too much about her or getting her more involved in the plot(s).

Yes I do too. From the very beginning when she's a cat until my favorite scene involving her when Harry defends her from being spat upon she was underutilized.

for the longest time I thought she was secretly a Death Eater b/c she was watching the Dursley's house in animagi form the night Harry's parents got killed. She didn't know why Dumbledore was there and was shocked he knew that a cat was actually her.

It was pretty strongly implied that the only reason Hogwarts wasn't completely fricked in book 7 was because Mcgonagall was there holding things together. And her magic in the battle when she woke up the knights in the castle was pretty impressive
