Uhhhhh the do workouts and give their numbers to the 32 teams you dipshit. Our whole team has only a few guys that do over 350. College football most likely has 5-10 DBs who can do 315

Exactly. Anyone who says that a 200lb 20 year old that can cover the deep third and clean 315 is not a strong motherfricker is full of shite.
Just the response of the kids in the weight room let's you know this is not something you see everyday.
My guess is that the people downplaying it weigh in well over 200 lbs.

This is what I was going to say a power clean is a fluid motion from the floor to your chest. It's a great way of gauging hitting power and explosiveness because it's an explosive motion not the chest squat, which is still an impressive weight for high school guys but it's not what Rickey did.

Just to put this threads stupidity into better perspective:

Trent Richardson and Michael Ford were big running back beasts who were known for being the best weight lifters in college football. Their feats were talked about every week during the games as possibly the strongest players in all of football

They power cleaned 365 and 352........

Back in the day we did the complete rep. To the shoulders then back down to the floor, not dropping it from the shoulders to the floor

Thinking back (of course this is mid 90s we are talking and a mid major, not LSU), none of the corners did anything over 300. I believe we had 2 safeties doing 315 (both SS).

I guess when you are around it so much in a competitive environment you get desensitized to it. I see it done so much now that it isn't a big deal to see a guy hit 315, especially in his early 20's. NOW, being that strong doesn't necesarily translate to the field. Jefferson played as a true freshman at LSU which speaks to his football skills.

315 isn't a big clean. it's a really good clean but I would think that every player on LSU's roster can clean it.

I don't know shite about lifting weights but I'm 100 percent sure that this wouldn't be a big deal if everybody on the team was doing it you idiot

Just looked up LSU's most jacked safety, and possibly the NFL's, of all time Laron Landry's max power clean. 286 lbs. I'm betting the guys in this thread never did 350...

terrible form? Terrible...please list all the form breakdowns.

You know why I like it, I like it because he seems pumped, he must seem pumped because he hit a new number....that means he is getting stronger and is healthy.

I like to see Tiger players stay healthy and get stronger. But, I am not a miserable person.

I'm sure they haven't. A ton of guys struggle with cleans, not because they don't have the strength, but because the movement. It takes a ton of work and getting over the fact in your head that you are about to try and put a big number from the floor to your shoulders. A lot of it is mental, and many guys can't get to a point where they pull at the right moment. They pull too soon.
