That is one of the most outrageous stats I have ever heard. Are you playing in a league with 1 pt for every 10 passing yards?

I agree with your premise about QBs, but Luck had 2 40point games all last year.
I like having that foundation every week with my QB.
Nothing like drafting a QB and having to stream a different one each week because the original one didn't pan out. People think it's so easy to get a QB, until you can't one to play consistently

He's exaggerating. Luck and AARon averaged 26 last year in a 1 pt per 25 yards league

No, he's not

Getting a guaranteed 40 pts each week in a 6-pt TD league from Luck is definitely an advantage. Especially if you can get him on the back end of the 1st and get a #1 WR like Dez to go with it. All it takes is a good draft an two solid RB2s to fill that void of no #1 RB. Lamar Miller, Mark Ingram and Jeremy Hill can definitely fill that hole.

20 yards, 6 pt TDs. Bonus Pts for 300+ & 400+.
Every week was a little over reaction but you're getting over 1/3 your pt total from 1 player.
7 weeks 40 pts in 2014
10 weeks 30pts in 2014
Still won't win you anything, because like I said it takes one game in the playoffs like against Dallas to shite the seaaon away.

I didn't take it literal in the sense that I thought they were scoring 40 points. I meant that its absurd to throw out a phrase like "Guaranteed 40 points."

i wouldn't say its impossible to get a Luck/Dez/INgram trio. How high you think Ingram goes?

Why are people ignoring the fact that Luck's ADP last year was around round 4-5? It's not like people were taking him in the first round and still having these awesome squads.

My worst years are always when I go first rd rb. I always try to go with the surest thing on the board. I'd rather have guys who are the best at their positions than the guy people think are the 6th or 7th best rb...always feels reactive going that route. All TDs in my league worth 6 though and we technically only have to start one rb.

Right now he's there at the end of the third in 12 team PPR mocks

If you're drafting 10-12th and Aaron goes before Luck you could definitely get him at and a #1 WR (Dez, Demaryius, Brown or Julio) on the way back. If Ingram isn't there in the 3rd, Miller will be there.
FWIW, I haven't looked at mock snakes since my main focus has been auction

yea i think if you have a mid to late slot in the draft, you can get Dez, say at 7 or 8. Luck on the rebound, and then Ingram or maybe CJ Spiller.
really just depends if there is a RB run, or if there is a QB happy guy before Luck gets back to you.

I think he was 2nd or 3rd in my league last year. He was a "reach" at the time. Anyway that's not even the example that I was really thinking about when saying that teams with the top QB typically doing well in my league. Last year was actually atypical in that regard. The team who had him most of the year barely missed the playoffs and traded me luck right before the playoffs.
I'm thinking about years the past when Rodgers was picked in the first in my league in 2011. Or Peyton was picked near the end of the first when he broke all the records. Again this is in a small 10 team league with 6 pt passing touchdowns, so it may be kind of a specialty circumstances.
Then again now that I think about it those were two all time great seasons that I would be counting on, so I might have officially talked myself out of it after all.

Tell Me about Lamar Miller. I hate him.

Has only a rookie backing him up (albeit a talented one) and averaged 5.1 ypc last year. And averaged 14 ppg

well, he has little competition, averaged over 5.0YPC, and is a decent receiver. That offense should be better in the air, should take some pressure off of him.
how about this stat, if you project his numbers over 16 games just from the 6 games where he had more than 15 carries, he would have ran for 1500 yards

He's auditioning for a free agent contract this season, kinda like Demarco Murray was last year. Dolphins drafted Ajayi as their future back because they probably won't be bringing back Miller after making big off-season signings.
He's a guy that could finish in the top 7, maybe top 5 if he gets 18-20 carries this year. Especially since he made an agreement with the coaching staff that he wouldn't get the 20+ carries (Last season). Dolphins should be taking the leash off this season. FWIW, he's gained 10-15 lbs in muscle this off-season

quote:Okay. Let's look at Philip Rivers, currently ranked about the 14th QB in 6pt, 25yd PPR leagues. Probably a 9th-10th round draft pick.
Nothing like drafting a QB and having to stream a different one each week because the original one didn't pan out. People think it's so easy to get a QB, until you can't one to play consistently
Has averaged 20ppg the last 7 years. 5 years above, 2 years less than 20.
In 2013, the year of the best FF QB season ever, 520 points from Peyton - Rivers was coming off a 16.3 ppg season. In 2013 Rivers scored 22.0 ppg, 10 less than Peyton's historic season.
10+ppg is OMG great. Except when you think the best historic season is only 10ppg better than a QB you could have gotten in the 15th round. Alex Smith, Tony Romo, Andy Dalton were other low rent QBs that were in that 22ppg range. Or if you drafted Brees in 2013, historic is only 5ppg better.
Now let's come back down to earth. Luck isn't going to throw for 55 TDs and 5500 yards. Meaning the gap narrows ever more.
Easily Luck and A.A.Ron are your 1/2 or 2/1 defacto QBs this year, not arguing that. Just the value using a 1st round pick on either.
