Dude is get to drafted near the 20th QB off the board. He's not even a top 100 player. There's certainly no risk involved for a QB you can draft as your backup and plug in as a starter week to week. Late picks are about potential and Palmer still has the potential to be a top 10-12 QB
wat??
I'm talking about drafting a starting QB for your fantasy team, you're talking about drafting Palmer as a back up?
Who gives a shite about a backup.
Palmer has an ADP of 149 currently, Dalton is currently at 174. I would wait and take Dalton all day over Palmer. Flaco is at 149 as well, would easily take Flaco over Palmer.

Matt Ryan had maybe the worst Oline in the league last year due to injuries, and Tony Romo missed time.
He performed as a low end QB1, but I think it will be his ceiling and he will lack consistency without much upside.

If you're drafting him you're definitely drafting a combo like I originally posted with Bridgewater. That way you play the matchup

They've added Jordan Cameron, Greg Jennings and Kenny Stills. They drafted Devante Parker. They are investing in talent around him.
He's also a very good runner. I wouldn't bet against him hitting 30TDs this year.

Yeah, he's improved every year. Without looking, I think he had 5 or 6 games in a row last year where he ran for ~ 50 yards each game, which is not common for him. I know he has the ability to run, he just hasn't historically.

he ran 56 times last year.
he ran 45 on average his first 2 years. I mean it's not that far off. He is a converted WR, that skill will always be there for him.

If he's the 20th QB off the board, he's definitely undervalued.

Late first tier QB...

He's extremely underrated. People that were bitching about his contract are stupid.
There are still a handful of guys I wouldn't take him over for fantasy, they are pretty obvious. I'll have him rated in that 7-12 range likely.

some how i ended up watching a lot more Dolphins games than usual last year.
i don't know, i guess they always filled the local CBS time slot.
anyway, it might take a minute for the new WR's to get on track with Tanehill.
I mean you have Parker (rookie who is sort of banged up: Foot), Greg Jennings (journeyman but prob knows the system well has played for Philbin before in Green Bay?), Stills (young and talented but recently traded for off the field schtick).
He'll probably have a good connection there with Jarvis Landry starting off the season... I would guess. And maybe even Jennings too really.
the TE Cameron is a good player but has had multiple concussions.
I don't have a problem with Tannehill but if he doesn't get better blocking going against some of those AFC East defenses... wow... could be brutal.
their O-line has been shaky in pass protection really the last few years.

ADP and everything is fine for a qb, but it's best to let the draft come to you with the QB situation.
You have to be careful when you are "targeting" a certain guy just because of his ADP when it comes to qb.
Are you targeting him because you think he will be a top 6-7 guy, or are you targeting him because you think him going around 100 is a value?
If he is your "guy" and six qbs go in front of him by round 6 are you prepared to reach for him? That's what you have to ask yourself.
It's much better to have a group of qbs that you value about evenly, and wait till the last (or preferably 2 remain) from that group and then grab. And in a lot of cases, it's probably advantageous to get 2 qbs within 3 rounds of each other when you are waiting.
That's why it's so crucial to make a draft board and chart positions of other teams so you can have a rough guess of when a team might be selecting a certain position depending on league size.

He is a good target to pair with another mid-level guy if you miss on the big 6-8 guys. I would consider him a top shelf QB2 (12 team) but he will likely be gone before I will want to draft him. I definitely wouldn't feel like I could make a run at the SB with him as my QB1.
I saw statistics last year that talked about drafting a QB and when you should take one. It polled last 3 years of FF champions and found that around 45% of the champs took a QB in the 2nd round. I don't remember the exact stats, but they were something like (standard scoring):
25%- first round
45%- second round
20%- third round
10%- fourth or later
I was surprised, but it shows of you don't have a top 5 QB, you reduce your chances significantly.
