There's not a Yankee or Red Sox starting in the All-Atar game

For the first time ever!

That's what they're talking about during the (Yankees/Red Sox) game right now.

that's a pretty crazy stat.

That is wild. Gardner could have been deserving though. They should have put arod at short for old times sake.

You could make an argument for Gardner or Bogaerts

I thought I would never say this but I sort of miss the great Yankees/Red Sox battles. The quality of those games were incredibly high, certainly higher than anything in baseball over the past 5-10 years. It seems like MLB is on a down cycle right now with no buzz. They need teams like the Red Sox and Yankees to become dominant again.

Shows you that the fans have been fricking it up MUCH longer than we thought.

I thought Gardner was starting in place of the injured Alex Gordon?

Although, for a long time there were only 14 teams in the American League, and fewer before that, so filling a position from one of those two clubs statistically isn't a stretch by any means.

Is he?

I always listen to the radio broadcast, but I actually turned up the volume in the MLB network and Costas & Smoltz talked about it for an inning.....

AL SS is beyond pathetic. I would have picked Bogaerts or Correa (despite almost no PA's).

That is the real reason for arod. No one deserves to start there.

No, Adam Jones is now starting. Gardner is a backup.

Gardner selected to replace Gordon, but Jones was the next highest vote getter so he moves into starting role.

I think if more people "knew" about Brock 'The Rock' Holt he'd be starting.

What happened to Ellsbury? He was the only Yankee I voted for?

The number of young stars in the big leagues right now is insane. The Red Sox and Yankees might be down but the talent is unfathomable.
