The revolving door at 4430 Magazine: Haiku

I don't post many reviews on here. However, I figured I would throw some love to the new sushi place at 4430 magazine. I feel like they don't serve much of any chance for survival. In the last 2-3 years alone, it's been 3 separate restaurants (courtyard, vida's, and mezze Mediterranean).
The name of the new place is Haiku. My SIL was in town with her 2 sons and she was craving sushi so we decided to give this place a shot. Ordered some edamame and avocado salad to start. The salad was only 4.95 and has 2 full avocados along with the perfect touch of ginger and greens. Both were good.
We thought the sushi prices were a little on the pricey side. The cheapest one was 11 bucks and they had no standard rolls. We like to order one or two standards along with one or two specialities. We went with the ninja roll & rainbow. Both were good. Seemed pretty standard. As good as Kyoto which we also like and order regular but didn't blow us away.
SIL went with the sushi platter which was probably the best presentation I've seen at any sushi place before. Pretty incredible and she loved it.
The 2 boys 7 & 8 years old ordered a chicken plate off the standard menu that came with a nice sauce. They split the plate into two and neither kid could finish it (12.95 total)
They brought us some special Japanese desserts on the house. I forgot the name but it was delicious. It tasted like a gourmet ice cream that you pick up by hand. The part holding the ice cream together tasted like a non-processed gummy beer. It was great.
Overall we enjoyed our experience. Service was good. The manager greeted us and asked us how things were.
If you are in a sushi mood or in the neighborhood, don't be scared to give them a shot. Very nice people and seem to be working hard.

That's $12 worth of avocados down the street at Izzo's.

Glad it seems to be a sustainable restaurant. Will have to make it by. Did they do anything with the back deck/patio or is it still just an employee breakroom?
Don't worry. That strip of Magazine has a history of hooking you with low prices them jackiny them up regularly.

Yes that's it...I don't think they were made in house probably purchased from a supplier. But they were free and tasty.
