Ehh I'd still take my chances on a low cross getting to someone other than a lot of our normal build up play

I am happy with the three points. I am. But I'm also ruling out anything but a league or FA Cup.
I mean outside of City no one looks all that impressive so far.

We really need Jack right now. Someone to drive at a deep lying defense.
We also need a forward who can give some semblance of hold up play and run the channels.
Giroud is just so fricking mentally fragile. That bullshite garbage arse chip at the end was the epitome of it. And he's so fricking soft. He never engages physically with opposing center backs.
Costa, count that he is, is constantly initiating contact with defenders, keeping them off balance and wearing them down. Giroud checks to the ball, holds them off, and then offers nothing else outside of one twos. He's a good sub, an inadequate first choice striker.
Walcott is a winger, Welbeck has every tool but the most important -- finishing -- and that's all we have.
Damn. I agree with the above, which is incredibly concerning. I am kind of scared, I don't know how we can improve currently. Not entirely sure if the pieces are there and simply tactics would work.

Finish better? I mean we aren't gonna shoot this poorly for the rest of the season.

At least other teams are losing but man city might run away with it this year.

People are already overreacting. At this point last season the talk was if Chelsea were going to go unbeaten. Only 5 points off with 33 games to go and a few days left in the window...but signings aren't looking likely.

Outside of striker the pieces are all there. It'd be nice to have more power from midfield, but the team is incredibly good at playing between the lines. The finishing is the problem and that can be a confidence issue. The defensive spacing, particularly the combo of Gab-Kos, is excellent and could allow us to bring back the high press, which would limit goal mouth chances. The seasons where we had two fast CBs are also the seasons where the team gave up the fewest open play chances. What we need is for Jack to grow into the DLP role and use his considerable ability to dictate play. Cazorla is a super player but he's also a forward thinking player.
The team hasn't played well but more so than other years all the pieces are there.

Arsenal only took eight shots from outside the box today — that’s 36% of their total on the day and matches their season average from last year. But the Gunners also created five shots in prime positions — these are positions close to goal where Arsenal scored 33% of their attempts last season. And to make matters better/worse (depending on your disposition), they created created three big chances in this match — these are positions where a player is 1-v-1 with the keeper or has a shot which you would reasonably expect the player to score. In short, just like against Liverpool, West Ham, and Crystal Palace, Arsenal are creating excellent chances but simply not finishing them.

Was just looking at stats from Saturday. Ox was dispossessed 5 times, had 6 unsuccessful touches. Easily the most on the team in both stats. Was amazed at how poor he played after excellent form to start the year.

Yeah it was a weird one from Ox. Once they were down to 10 men he seemed lost on what to do.

This was the season we were supposed to have crazy depth, but here we are as usual, worried about injuries to Rosicky, Welbz, and Wilshere and going with the "if onlys" related to the personnel we don't have available.
Theo belongs on the right wing. We miss his pace there. What to do with Ox? I don't know.

We still have depth. I'm not worried about our depth at all.
Except at CF. If Giroud goes down, we're in trouble. Welbeck will be back soon, which helps, but in my opinion, we're quality center forward play away from contention. Giroud is capable of reaching those heights, but not sustaining them.
Especially with the way everyone around us is struggling. We've struggled mightily, and yet managed 7 points in our last three matches, a good return. Our defense looks spectacular. We're dominating the ball. We're creating chances. We're just missing a finishing touch.
Every other spot, we're plenty deep. Particularly at the back.

There is smoke to Nacho going to Athletic. He's arguably been Arsenal's best player this year.
Posted on 8/31/15 at 9:35 am to Jabroni
That would be a disaster. Monreal has been incredible for the last year. Gibbs isn't on his level by any means. Also, it would leave us with no left back cover.
Posted on 8/31/15 at 9:38 am to Stewie Griffin
That's what Flamini is for!
Hopefully there's absolutely nothing to this.

selling Nacho and not signing anyone would be a dumpster fire of epic proportions.

Kike Marin, popular Twitter journalist, says we aren't selling Monreal.
Posted on 8/31/15 at 1:06 pm to Stewie Griffin
I want to sell Monreal next summer and buy Ricardo Rodriguez.

why do I keep checking to see if anything gets done? it's like I enjoy the disappointment.
