I was going to bring that up too. How the hell can anyone in here honestly say Bama has way more talent than LSU?
This is a somewhat new excuse that seems to be popular this preseason.

LSU's problem was not talent when it came to looking at the gaps we saw in the games in recent years. It's the fact LSU had by far the most attrition to the NFL and a lot of inexperience at positions.
I fail to see the distinction here. Plain and simple, Alabama has had the better athletes every year since the losing streak began.

I don't agree with this.... They have had better coaching and QB play... That's it............

Just curious, why do you consider it BETTER coaching when the reality may just be that their players have more years with the coaching staff.
I'm not even considering recruiting rankings or coaching acumen... but a three year starter is going to perform better in pretty much every scenario.

Simple. He played inferior teams in a horrible conference. ACC only recently started to show real competition and it's pretty much a 2 team conference right now. A few years ago before FSU went back to being powerhouse you could argue ACC was one of the worst BCS conferences and that was around the time Steele coached there.
The acc as a conf. Has the 2nd most nfl players and let's not act like the sec full of high powered offenses.
Chavis' defenses benefitted greatly from our offensive scheme. Even in 2014 when our offense was putrid, our defense was rarely on the field because of our ball controlled offense.
When you use pure stats ( yards per play and points per play these stats aren't skewed by TOP) Chavis only had 2 seasons, at lsu, that were ranked in the top 15.
Pure stats are a far better measurement of an offense's and defense's success.
For example, in 2013 our offense was ranked 11th in the entire country in yards per play, but we were 105th In plays ran so our total offensive ranking was 40th.

Then why does LSU have so many more players in the NFL?
Really? It's because Bama was shite from 2001 -2008 and lsu has been good since 2000. Only an idiot would argue that lsu has recruited just as well as bama because FACTS prove otherwise. It's not my opinion that bama has more talent than anyone, it's a fact according to recruiting services. The last 3 classes lsu has 1 top 5 finish and in that time span bama has had 3 straight #1 classes. Bama has 15 5 stars on their team. LSU has 5.

Bama might have an edge. MIGHT on talent
Holy shite. People that get paid to evaluate talent disagree with you. Every single recruiting site disagrees with you.

of last season LSU had 44 players on 53 man NFL rosters to Bama's 35
Because lsu has been good since 2000 and bama has been good since 2008.

It's a fact. Not an excuse. No program has recruited as well as bama.

If our qb has a season on par with JJ'S 2009 season ( 17 td- 7 ints 60% compl and 2100 yards) we will be hard to stop. All we need is a qb that can keep the safeties out of the box.

according to the link below, as of right now, Bama has 36 and LSU 33.

and to really get a breakdown you have to look at draft position and production. LSU's numbers have been somewhat inflated by UDFA's and low picks making teams and basically being special teams players.

The reason Bama has high bust players that go to the NFL is because Saban makes them hit their ceilings in college while LSU players seem to have more success in the NFL recently because their ceilings are not being met in college. That's coaching.
So if LSU players were developed better while in college they'd be busts more often in the pros?

"I've known Kevin for a long time and he will do an excellent job for us in this role," said Saban. "Kevin is very familiar with our program from an organizational standpoint as well as our defense from coaching here previously so he'll be able to jump right in and not miss a beat. He possesses outstanding organizational skills along with great people skills which make him an excellent coach, teacher and recruiter."

NFL looks for ceilings for draft picks. They want guys who have high ceilings so they can push them to a higher status in the NFL. LSU players have high ceilings. I remember reading not too long ago a scout was talking about Alabama and even himself said that scouts now are being more weary of Bama guys and grading them lower due to realizing they're hitting ceilings in college because of coaching. So basically it's a what you see is what you get kind of guy. It doesn't necessarily mean they're a bust but when you think a guy has a high ceiling and draft him in the 1st only to realize he's more of a complimentary player, yes, in a sense he's a bust.
Bama has a lot of good players in the NFL don't get me wrong but they're no doubt getting more bust types. I guess it depends on your definition of what a bust is. But even a scout himself said the same thing...while Bama has a ton of NFL talent they're starting to realize in their evaluations they need to be weary on how high their ceiling potential is in the NFL.

It was rumored that before the Sugar Bowl game vs Oklahoma in 2014 that Kevin Steele and another coach got into a fight (not physically) with Kirby Smart about something. Apparently Kevin was ready to get out of Alabama and was going to bolt because of the tension on the staff but Saban begged him to stay. Also, when he was at Alabama, he turned down DC offers from Nebraska and Louisville and possibly others. Not everyone sees Steele as a failure as some people (Clemson, Baylor, and Texas A&M fans) do.
