The SEC West alone is as tough as it's ever been and there is nothing to indicate that the necessary changes (scheme/personnel) will be made to make LSU a threatening offense.

The problem we had last year was that the quarterbacks struggled to pick up the offense, let alone read opposing defenses.

Some minor adjustments were apparent at the end of last season and this offseason.

Overhauling the playbook and asking the QBs to start over is not the answer.

I have no confidence in Jennings. He is like Abby Wombach for Team USA- the team looks to her to make plays, but even when she has something so basic- like a PK- to make, she disappoints.

If you're going to integrate a comparison don't use women's soccer. I had to google this h00ker just to make sure it was soccer.
pls and thanks.

A loss to Bama alone isn't enough to keep us out any given year

Yes it is. If we lose to Bama and end up 11-1 and still don't win the SEC-W or the SECCG, no way in Hell we make the playoff.

This is the time of year that everyone makes predictions. The media, fans, polls, all love to tell you what will occur before anything happens. Every year very few are proved correct and the ones that get most of it right probably bombed the year prior. Few remember these preseason predictions because everyone's predictions begin to change as the season unfolds. It is fun though. I used to buy all the magazines and then I would look back in the middle of Jan. and see how wrong they in variably were. Yes they nailed a few teams and missed badly on others. Last year TAM went to USC a heavy dog and destroyed the cocks. Immediately Sumlin was a genius and we had a QB that was an instant Heisman candidate that tried to copyright a nickname. He quickly lost his job and is no longer on the team. So many more examples and not enough time.

I see LSU at 9-3 this year. I don't see a sure win in SEC play or a sure loss. Some teams will be worse than expected and some better as always. Bama, Pigs, and Bears in 3 consecutive weeks looks like a very tough stretch and Aub and State are not cakewalks. LSU was 1-4 last year against these 5. My guess is Tigers go 3-2 against these teams but I have no idea which 3 are wins. TAM, USC, and UF, I see as 2-1. my thoughts like all of yours will change 2 or 3 weeks into the season. Sorry for the length.

Love your optimism but reality will eventually set in.

Arkansas is no pushover but I feel good about that game.
You do know that the R-Kansan's got their first SEC victory in two years against LSU in 2014 and shut us out in the process. That game was really an embarrassment to the program. We never play well against them late in the season. Your "Feelings" are invalid in the real world........

Bama. Why do so many people see them on the schedule and assume it's an automatic loss?

Watching the last four games against them, I'd guess.

Not for a long time. What the last four meetings have shown is that if we outplay Alabama, we will still somehow keep the game close and then throw it away in some stupid manner and, if they outplay us, they will stomp our shite in the ground.

They're nowhere close to invincible.

Of course not in general, but for LSU lately, pretty much.

For LSU under Miles, beating Alabama is now on par with having a good offense and a good QB. I'll believe it when I see it and even think it's possible, but I'm tired of hearing talk about it every offseason only to watch the same old story unfold again and again.

Good question. A team that couldn't break 13 in half its SEC games last year and has just had its returning starting QB suspended is somehow supposed to score 20 or more in every regular season game this year? Can't wait to see that.

We will lose our normal 3 games in some combo of Auburn, Bama, State and UGA.

Let me ask this question, with miles bringing in the talent yr after yr, why is it that most yrs our offense looks like a high powered junior high school offense?

Who really cares?

I know what you're implying, and fact of the matter is this:

Under Les Miles, the following players have signed LOIs:
Jimbo Fisher
Ryan Perrilloux #1 QB, #6 National
Jarrett Lee #8 QB, #117 National

Gary Crowton
Jordan Jefferson #12 QB, #324 National
Russell Shepard #1 ATH, #3 National
Chris Garrett #19 QB, #492 National
Zach Lee #18 QB, #348 National
Zach Mettenberger #1 QB, #4 National (JUCO)
Jerrard Randall #8 QB, #186 National
Stephen Rivers #20 QB, #617 National

Greg Studrawa/Steve Kragthorpe
Jeremy Liggins #19 ATH, #263 National
Hayden Rettig #9 QB, #152 National
Anthony Jennings #14 QB, #213 National

Cam Cameron
Brandon Harris #3 QB, #75 National
Justin McMillan #36 QB, UR National
Feleipe Franks #1 QB #45 National
Zadock Dinkelmann Class of '18 unranked

You think it's a coincidence that QB recruiting has been elite when we've had an experienced and knowledgable QB Coach/OC, and it's been terrible when we've had a QB Coach/OC that couldn't keep a job at fricking Maryland?
