Going down to Grand Isle this weekend with a few guys to do some fishing on some private land. Have always just used my father's tackle but would like to start working on my own tackle box.
What are some lures I could pick up for this weekend for reds and specs?
Thanks in advance.

I've always had great luck with reds and specks on the flats using a Zoom super fluke. Texas rig with no weight and make it dance 3-6" under the surface, occasionally breaking. DOA makes one too. Hard to beat the action on a soft plastic jerk bait. If you work it right then it triggers a reactionary bite.
They're bass lures so obviously work great on bass too, but anything that eats smaller fish will eat a fluke

Top Water plugs, top dog/shedog/topdog JR/etc. My go-to are always orange belly/black top, bone colored, clown colored, and the white belly/silver sides/black top(or blue).
Jig heads and plastics. I like 1/8 and 1/4 oz jig heads. Matrix or Vortex Shad. Favorite colors are usually Green Hornet, Shrimp Creole, Ultra-Violet and Lemonhead.
Gold and silver spoons as well as spinners or inline spinners. I like the inline spinners from Seein Spots.
Also good to have some terminal tackle on hand. Corks, leader material, swivels, weights, hooks, etc.
