I get it. I just happen to agree that it is ridiculous.
Here is a serious question. Since slavery was allowed under the U.S. Flag, why no clamoring for changing it? Should it not be offensive as well?
There wouldn't be much left in the world if we had to remove everything that could possibly be deemed offensive to someone. This is just people pushing a political agenda in the wake of a tragedy. Congrats on falling right in line.

The southern part of the United States isn't the only place in the world that has slavery.
In fact, in Africa, slavery very much still exits today.
Black folks enslave black folks everyday in Africa.
And yes, so much of what is done today in the news and in the media is to make myself as a white, heterosexual, southern, Christian make is to make myself feel guilt and for the country as a whole to think I am the majority of the problems in this country and that I should be offended and feel guilty about my very existence.
That is where my sarcasm lies in that post.

I'm perfectly willing to discuss it. I don't see how it applies to the discussion about the flag or the recent shooting. But if you want to discuss slavery in a wider context that is a separate topic; start a thread about it.

The issue is so much larger than this stupid flag. I honestly don't care at all about the flag.
My point is that you can wear or own or even say anything you want to as long as it applies to another skin color or heritage.
The only thing now days that becomes an issue is things that apply to white people.
