I'm sure we have a singular, vague Al Sharpton quote coming that's going to be construed as inciting violence.

While I agree to a certain extent. We still have the 1st amendment. Let's not forget that the police brutal tactics and disregard for basic human compassion is what brought us to this point

keep in mind that just one week ago protestors at his march in New York City were chanting, "What do we want? Dead cops! When do what them? Now!"

Show me where he advocated violence, and I will agree that he should.be charged.

Which just reiterates my point that this guy is just butthurt over bad press for PD's nationwide. He wants to keep people from hearing about it.

The number of people who advocate for blind compliance with every government "order" is shameful. Be thankful that did not happen when the British ruled our country.

So the government employees are so self righteous now that they will openly threaten people who talk bad about them.

Ironically, plenty of small government conservatives are okay with this.

He told the criminal element that they were going to comtinue doing their job in spite if the bad press and the out right lies the media has published about police incidents. Good for LPD and the good citizens that live their.

When you bring multiple TD posters together in defense of Al Sharpton, you're probably wrong

You would rather prove a point and possibly get arrested or hit with trumped up charges to prove your point? I personally would rather comply and let the cop get off on his power trip so I can go about my way. I guess that makes me a pussy but I have never been arrested either

So, you've never turned down a cop searching your vehicle? Fwiw, the Supreme Court also ruled you don't have to wait an extended period of time to wait for a drug dog.

My uncle is a lawyer and he tells me to never consent to a search and to never talk to the police unless it is necessary. Keep it to yes sir, no sir and again only answer questions that are necessary. The goal is to have the officer move on. You basically treat and fear them like mobsters.

He installed a camera in his kid's trunk that starts recording when people open the trunk just in case they try to frame him.

There's a difference between being a complete jerk with a cop just trying to do his job and protecting your rights in my opinion. Unless he's a massive butt, I'm not going to be a jerk to him, but you're damn sure he's not checking my trunk without a warrant.

As a citizen & veteran I support Al Sharpton's rights to do what he does. It's a slippery slope taking rights away.

A couple tweets with quotes from Mutchler's press conference on the letter:
quote:

@joesonka: Mutchler: "No one should feel threatened in the least bit by the letter." "Nowhere in this letter did I threaten anyone."

quote:

@joesonka: Mutchler says he wrote the letter on his own and let "some folks" read it first.

quote:

@joesonka: Mutchler: "The mayor is responsible for everyone in Louisville... I'm responsible for our (LMPD) members"

quote:

@joesonka: Mutchler says he's just creating a dialogue. Also, you'll be investigated, arrested and charged if you say words that he thinks harm police

There's more here

He seems to be a bit out of touch with reality.
